We stayed here for a girls weekend, and it was an ideal place to stay. The downstairs kitchenette was convenient for washing baby bottles in the middle of the night, and the large dining room mirror made getting primped very easy. Clean, comfortable, and very well-appointed. Easy to find and convenient location. We came on a snowy weekend and the plowing and salting was done quickly, which was very appreciated.
This location was perfect for our needs. The house is as described with plenty of towels, bedding, other expected supplies.
Three disappointments...
1. upon arrival there was on overwhelming smell through out the house and bedding. One of of our party thought it to be 'old house smell', another thought it an OVERWHELMING air freshener product. Regardless, we were able to overcome it by opening the doors and windows.
2. With intentions of using the oven we turned it on to preheat. Shortly thereafter, and prior to actually using it there came the smell of something burning. We discovered in the oven, a cookie tray, with the burnt remains of what I could only guess were at one time meant to be cookies. Hardly a welcoming sight. Once again we opened the doors and windows to air things out.
3. Lastly, the description and house rules do clearly state that departure is 10:00 AM sharp. Not a problem. But it does seem a bit rude when the cleaners pull up in front of the house at 9:55 AM. It seems a bit like the old adieu... "Don't let the door hit you on the way out".
Overall the home was very nice and met our needs as a family of four. It was perfectly cleaned and we appreciated the extra towels and basics that were available for our use. The stocked coffee bar was especially appreciated. The beds though could use an upgrade. The king bed in particular needs to be replaced with a new and premium mattress. The mattress currently there is pretty worn where you can feel the springs when you lay on it. Since this a promoted as a high end property the mattresses should really reflect that. If you are planning to rent this as a large group make sure you note that the other mattresses on the main floor are doubles not queens. The neighborhood was very quiet and peaceful. We even met a neighbor who was very kind. I would definitely rent again but only if the king mattress was significantly upgraded.
We loved all the amenities in the kitchen. The bathroom supplies (shampoo, conditioner, soaps) were lovely. The beds were so comfortable! We felt safe and comfortable. Veterans Memorial Park is within walking distancr. And we loved it too
We enjoyed our stay. We were in town for a horse show so pretty much only there to sleep. Everything was clean and comfortable and nice quiet neighborhood.
This was perfect for a family stay and visit. The house is set up perfectly and the location couldn't be better. Looking forward to reserving this house again.
The home is well decorated and well supplied. Spacious and welcoming. A nice combination of private space and gathering space. David and Ellen are exceptional and accommodating. Highly recommend.
This house worked great for our family of 5 couples staying for a long weekend. Itâs location to nearby grocery stores and a 10 minute car ride to the restaurants downtown was nice. It is in a neighborhood that was nice for taking a walk in. The kitchen had all the pans and cutting board we needed for cooking breakfasts and snacks. The beds were comfortable. There were plenty of towels, pillows, bedding and extra blankets provided. The water pressure for showers was good. The large back patio and fire pit area were nice outdoor spaces we enjoyed. The driveway was big enough to park our two cars in tandem. There was a parking pad in the backyard for a third car if we needed. Overall Davidâs place was conveniently located, clean, and comfortable. We are very happy with our stay there.
Overall, pleased with the property. Would have preferred window treatment on the 1/2 bathroom , kitchen and both doors, felt uneasy at times with the outside having a clear view. The master bathroom towel bar needed to be tighten up.
In town for a wedding. Home is in a nice, quiet residential neighborhood 5 min to shopping and food. After a long day of travel and rainy conditions, it was nice to relax with a cup coffee and unwind. The home was a base point and convenient to Chelsea, Dexter, and Ann Arbor. Had everything we needed.
We arrived in Ann Arbor immediately following an ice storm that knocked out power to much of the area, including the house we had reserved. Our hosts contacted us right away and offered us another of their houses (with power) for the first night of our stay. Both houses were great.
