Avoid this host.My wife and I spent a few hours at the property on the day that we checked in (Tuesday), but when we lay down to rest for the evening, we noticed a bad smell - feces. We sniffed around briefly trying to locate the source of it, but we couldnât. Disgusted and unwilling to sleep in a bed that smelled of poop, we packed up and headed home, and wrote to the host, Alisha, on the way. Alisha responded the next day claiming that there was no problem, that we were just smelling ânatural aromasâ from the bakery and restaurant downstairs. She offered a token one-night refund, but I requested a full refund and that she acknowledge the problem and vow to fix it for the next guest. She did not.I assumed at first that Alisha was just a stubborn property owner who refused to admit there could be a problem with her property, but I found out later that there was a plumbing emergency in the building the night before we checked in (the restaurant downstairs had to close for three hours), and Alisha was in the room when the plumber was called. Alisha knew there was a plumbing problem and should have taken our complaint of sewage smells seriously.Weâve reported this incident to Vrbo customer support as a health and safety issue, and are awaiting a resolution. We may or may not receive a refund, but hopefully at least YOU can avoid booking with this dishonest host.
We had difficulty checking in but our host was easily accessible for us to gain entry. We appreciated the short walk to the theaters and not hassling with parking. Great restaurants and the downstairs bakery are a great benefit
We had the most amazing stay in Ashland at the Urban Gypsy Loft. Alisha was a wonderful host and her loft is absolutely adorable. The beds were big and SO comfortable. Perfect walking distance through the Historic District. Can't wait to visit again some day.
This 2 bedroom flat is very spacious, with plenty of room to relax and enjoy your company. The front room has a dining area, and spacious sitting area overlooking Main Street. There is a tv room, 2 bedrooms and a kitchen. Itâs is a very cozy, comfortable and homey flat. Walking distance to everywhere is downtown Ashland. The street noise is a factor. The host has supplied everything possible to make it tolerable. We were not bothered by it, but it is like staying centrally in a city environment. You get all the perks of everything at your doorstep, with the typical noise that comes with it.
