I am a fellow VRBO host of 15 years. This place failed to provide a critical amenity - ability to sleep.
First, the positives.
House is in a great location in my favorite neighborhood of Atlanta. It's in within walking distance of THE BEST vintage stores and locally owned shops.
2nd - house is cozy and had all the basics like heat and hot water.
The negatives:
1. UNLOCKING THE DOOR - There is more than 1 unit in the house and the booking address has no unit #, but is buried in the instructions. We arrived at midnight after a late flight and approached from the front door, facing the sidewalk and tried the code 5 times, panicked and realized this wasn't the unit.
We spelunked around the side of the house to find the right unit and got in.
2. NO SLEEP - after settling in and taking showers, I was in the bathroom and heard a man's voice (that wasn't my husband's) like he was in the room with me. I peaked out and realized I heard correctly when my husband's wide eyes matched mine. Immediately, I felt bad because I thought we woke them up with our normal talking voices. Then it became obvious they had returned from the bar.
We could hear every word they said on the other side of the wall. At 2am, we went "to sleep" but they were up inside and outside (right next to our bedroom window) talking until 6am so we got 2 hours of broken sleep maybe?
They refunded me 2 of the 4 nights after I requested 3 nights refunded for the time we didn't occupy the home.
