The location was very quiet and private . The accommodations were perfect the two of us! It included so many extras , including beach chairs , towels and a shibumi! The owners happened to be in town and were exceptionally nice and accommodating. Would definitely recommend this place 
 and hope to stay here again !

A wonderful weekend getaway!

This property was exactly what my wife and I were looking for! We wanted a quick weekend getaway with good beach access and this was the perfect spot. Great location, very clean and stocked beyond belief! I’ve stayed at a lot of va action homes but I’ve never stayed anywhere that came close to the amount of amenities that this property provided. All you need to bring are your clothes and some groceries and you will have a great trip! We will absolutely be back.

Whimsical Whale at Atlantic Beach

Very tiny, no closet or dresser in the bedroom (although, there are storage baskets under the bed). We had to live out of our suitcase by moving it from the bed to the couch to sleep, and from the couch to the bed to relax during the day. There was no counter space in the bathroom. No screens that fit in the windows. Overall, we had a nice stay, just very tiny for the price. It was just my wife and I and I don't know how it would have handled 4 people as the ad says...

Great little beach place!

We loved our stay here. It's definitely not big, but it's a perfect size for two. Just a short walk over the dunes to the beach, and the private patio out back is a great breezy spot to enjoy morning coffee or an evening cocktail (plus the outdoor shower is awesome when you get back from the beach). Everything was clean and ready for our arrival, and when a couple of issues arose (owing in both cases to beach air and metal being natural enemies), the host was readily available to address them quickly. Short walk to numerous restaurants/bars as well. Overall, we loved it and would definitely come back again.

The Art of Decorating

Whimsical Whale is the bottom unit of three story property, and the owners have done everything in their power to make guests feel like they are not staying in a basement. Beautifully decorated throughout the unit with lots of thoughtful touches. Great kitchen, living room, small bedroom and bathroom. I found the bed uncomfortable, but that's probably just me, prefer a hard mattress. We did have trouble with the Wi-Fi, the instructions in the unit were confusing, but we got it worked out. Beach access is a little challenging, but my wife and I are older. And finally like any bottom unit, it tends to be dark but not damp thanks to a large dehumidifier. We probably wouldn't rent this unit again, but all in all it is beautifully appointed property just steps from the beach. It could be your cup of tea.

We love staying at the Whimsical Whale!

This was our second stay at the Whimsical Whale. We love the property, location and easy beach access. The property has anything you would need for the beach from ice packs, beach towels, coolers, chairs, etc. There is also a nice little patio on the back with lights to enjoy the evening outside. The place is quite cozy (meaning small). Ideal for two, I think four adults might be a bit crowded. There is no ocean view from the property but we didn't really care too much about that since it is a short walk over the dunes to the beach. The kitchen is well appointed. If you bring your own food, it will have to go on the counter as all cabinets are stocked with kitchen ware. Plan to live out of your suitcase! Storage in the bedroom consists of a few hangers and two drawers of a small night stand. Overall, you will definitely enjoy your stay here!

Loved our stay at Whimsical Whale.

Property is as described. It is small but has everything you will need. They provided beach chairs, beach towels, all linens, even shampoo, conditioner and hair dryer. We loved sitting outside in our own private patio. We were thankful for the shimbumi beach shade. We love the beach but the NC sun gets hot! Whimsical Whale is decorated beautifully and very organized. A/C cranks, loved having washer and dryer. We would definitely stay again.

The PERFECT Escape!!

The hosts really cares to make a great impression! The place was spotless clean, modern and for sure gives a Carolina vibe. They ensured that all was ready for our arrival and emphasized that they were available if we needed anything during our stay. Beautifully designed, decorated and maintained with so many thoughtful touches, we wanted for nothing. My husband and I felt comfortable and "at home" the minute we stepped in the door. It was everything you could want, with the beach mere steps away. My husband and I will definitely be back!!

Wonderful getaway!

Other than a glitch with our check-in (managed by property mgt company) we had a wonderful getaway at the Whimsical Whale. Small but perfect! Private beach access. Beach is not crowded at all at this location! Anything you need for your beach getaway is provided - towels, coolers, shibumi shade (we loved this!), etc. Kitchen is very well equipped with anything you need. Close to several good restaurants. We recommend the Island Grill and Table 9. We had a couple things that needed to be fixed while we were there and the owner took care of them immediately. I would definitely return to this location! We had a great time.

A perfect little hideaway at the beach

We were delighted with Whimsical Whale II - it was perfect for the two of us, and for our son and his gf to stay with us for a day at the beach. Every little thing has been thought of, and there’s not a bit of wasted space.

Anniversary Trip

So great, exactly what my wife and I wanted. Walk to the beach was so easy, they had EVERYTHING we needed. The Shibumi shade was GREAT. The home was cozy and cute. This was a perfect weekend getaway to celebrate us and perfect for what we were looking for. We wanted to be close to the beach, set apart from the crowd, and have our minimal needs met. Our needs were exceeded and our wants fulfilled.

Whimsical Vacation

The property was everything we expected and more! The property owner greeted us upon our arrival. He was very friendly and helpful; he showed us around and gave us a few tips about the property. The place was fully stocked with everything you would need for the stay, including items for the beach and cleaning (note: we weren't expected to clean the property, I just appreciated having the ability to do so). We loved the patio! Having a washer/dryer in the unit was a huge plus; it allowed us to not only return home with very few clothes to wash but we were able to wash all of the towels and linens prior to departure. I would definitely recommend this property to others and would not hesitate to rent again in the future.

Greatest timing and location I’ve had in Atlantic Beach! This is a return!

This property was exactly my dream spot. Small but dreamy and every amenity you need for a getaway from life! We loved the owners and the place exceeded my expectations! I would love to return soon! Great place for couple or two people getting away from everyday life. Privacy was good and everything was at our fingertips! BRAVO!

Lovely beachfront condo

We had a wonderful week stay at the Whimsical Whale and highly recommend this location to others. Everything needed for a relaxing beach trip is provided at this adorable and comfortable condo on the beach. We walked to several local restaurants and took an easy drive to Beaufort and other local spots.

Mini beach get away
