Having arrived early, we booked two rooms for the night before so we could rest after travelling from the UK. When we arrived reception was closed, the intercom machine was used and after three attempts we managed to get a key for one room! Reception was due to open at 8am so I gave the room to my mother and waited in reception. After a couple more calls - receptionist finally arrived at 8:30, couldn’t understand that we booked two rooms, finally a colleague gave me my key. This could have been avoided if two keys were left out and they linked the booking (this was the only reason why I could think of). Was never given an apology for this or explanation why. My mother also witnessed a very rude receptionist towards other guests.

This is a "Plain Jane" affordable hotel. The rooms don't have pictures on the wall but have all the basic needs you could ask for. The room is clean and the beds are comfortable, but no restaurant on site.

Very close to everything and transportation. Clean and staff was helpful and friendly. The only complaint would be the air conditioner blower is directed at the sofa and extremely chilly when trying to get the room temp down.

Comfortable, clean, good location, reasonably priced. Only downsides were the absence of any drawer space in the room and the option for soft or dimmable lights. Overhead lights were very bright. But loved the kitchenette and general spaciousness of the room.

While the hotel is relatively new and the rooms have a kitchen and washer dryer, it is rather basic. Perfect for people travelling New Zealand in a vehicle. It is less perfect for people getting off a cruise ship as it is a hilly walk to the harbor or other tourist areas. Otherwise, the staff was great and everything worked.

Centrally located and well equipped

Friendly desk staff. Modern and well equipped apartment balcony with a washer and dryer too. Comfy bed. Great, hot shower with soaps. Good kitchen with all facilities needed, including a kettle. Tv and music speaker that works with Bluetooth. Great view of the city.

The Ramada was a lovely hotel, it is up the top of Auckland city and a steep walk down to the waterfront. Our check in was smooth and easy, our room was well furnished and comfortable. I did notice there were no tissues in the rooms ,a hand towel for the bathroom and no chux wipe in the kitchen to wipe the bench or table down with. The receptionist Tyler was so polite and very helpful to us helping ping us out with queries. We read some issues with the wifi, but our wifi was great.

They tried to put us in a tiny room nothing like the photographs where gymnastics would be needed to navigate around the bathroom door. The woman said she would talk to housekeeping and just left and went back to reception. It took over an hour and some assertive talking suggesting they give us another room. Then they finally gave us the room like the photos without apology. That room was lovely but never again!

Disappointed in Auckland

Absolute chaos when we arrived off our cruise. Foyer full of luggage and cross guests. Receptionist overwhelmed and understaffed, initially wouldn't allow us to leave our bag's except at own risk in passage. When we came back made to wait until after check-in time for the key. Room decor poor, had kettle and a few teabags no biscuits. No house keeping or only every 3 days. No where near to eat.
