Fun, funky hotel but $35 a night for parking?

A good spot with some fun details. Great location. Front desk was nice and helpful. Room was a bit small but comfortable. $35 for parking is obnoxious. The restaurant also charged 22% “gratuity” (hint, that’s not a gratuity) with the resulting mediocre service.

Buried beneath the foundation of this hotel are the ruins of the original Cheer-Up Charlie's and Mrs. Bea's. This is the new East 6th: sterile and bland. Oh well. It was fun while it lasted. At least, there's a Target and a Whole Foods.

Do yourself a favor and book somewhere else.

Absolutely do not stay here. They do not disclose up front that in addition to the cost of staying there, you also will have to pay close to $40 a night to park there, which doesn’t even include valet. Additionally, you do not have your own bathroom and have to share with an entire floor. It’s advertised as such but at the price you have to pay, it should have its own bathroom. Also we found a cockroach in the corner of our room, and the lighting and the room were abysmal. It was motel quality at a normal hotel level price. At least a motel 6 gives you your own bathroom. They do a great job dressing up a turd with their pictures. Please do not book here

Nice & Affordable Cabin in East Austin

The location was convenient, however, street parking is a challenge and garage parking is expensive ($31/24hrs). I inadvertently booked a "cabin" which does not have a private restroom-once I got over the shock I adapted and the private bathroom was next door, so the treck was not far. The experience reminded me of European hotels years ago. Regardless, the single toilet/shower rooms were very spacious & clean. Just make sure to remember your room key. The best part of the "cabin" was the price-very affordable given the location and it being Austin.
