The charmer was a bit less than charming. The lock wasnât broken and during a six day stay never got fixed. Steps are tricky at night and owners didnât respond to request to fix the porch light. Also was nice inside but missing some essentials like a place to put your clothes. Next to highway which wasnât too noisy but not the nicest spot to be.
I stayed here for a short, solo writing retreat. The guest house was spacious for one person, much better than a hotel room! I appreciated the desk and table space in front of windows, which made writing less torturous. The property was easy to find and close to UT campus, grocery stores and coffee shops. I would definitely stay here again.
The property is conveniently located near downtown, the Capitol, and the Moody center. And itâs pet-friendly, which was great for me and my little fur buddy! I also liked that there was off street parking. The apartment itself is clean and quaint. My only problem was with the keyless entry keypad that doesnât work very well (at least not getting the first number to work). Also, I didnât feel very comfortable walking my dog alone at night because it is located right by the highway and it felt like an empty slightly eerie neighborhood,
Loved the fuzzy rug in the bedroom. Place was full of livable charm and unique decor that made it feel personal and taken care of. Very quiet and serene space to spend a few days. Would've stayed longer if schedule and budget permitted.
Only improvements would've been more workable kitchen and drying racks/hooks for towels in the bathroom. An easy fix so guests don't need to hang wet towels on doors, cupboards or chairs.
Pans were also quite worn and I wasn't comfortable cooking with due to chipping. Drying rack for dishes also needed badly, but a quick fix. We used the hand towel to place clean dishes on.
