Everything was good. Had one night where no one could take showers or flush toilets but the next day our property manager had a water truck come and fill the inside water tanks. I guess itâs not uncommon when youâre in the mountains to loose water. Hard for the well to keep up. Our property manager said he would compensate us for the night without water. I also appreciate the quick response our manager had to the email. Great job. Well done VRBO!!
Great house with beautiful views!Pros:- Very quiet with gorgeous view from deck- Nicely equipped, large kitchen- Very comfortable bed on the top floor bedroom (we didn't use the others)- WiFi worked well for two people on Zoom calls during the day- Window seat off the kitchen was awesome!Cons:- The water restrictions are pretty intense. There's an inviting-looking tub upstairs, but you can't use it. We were there five nights, didn't use 3 of the 4 bedrooms, didn't shower daily, did the maximum number of loads of laundry allowed (2) and ran the dishwasher twice. I got a text on day 5 that the reserves were getting low and I needed to limit my consumption because more guests were coming the next day. Not sure how it can support a whole house full of people?- The bottom floor had a strong odor of litter box / cat pee. I texted the property manager and they said it wasn't from an animal and can get like that sometimes (it did rain while we were there so maybe dampness?) We just avoided going down there except for laundry and it was fine for just two of us.
Pro: itâs a beautiful home and the pictures are accurate as far as the upkeep of the home. We were able to contact property management fairly easy but didnât really help much since we were promised things that never happened. Con: although the pictures are accurate the description is WAY off. There is no AC, which is fine, itâs up in the mountains and cool so not necessary, howeverâŠthey are on well water. This wouldnât be a problem however you have to LIMIT your water your entire stay! We barely had enough water for everyone to shower each day and couldnât run laundry and had to take extremely quick showers due to limited water which was stressful. Then on the last full day we had NO water at all. We contacted property management and was promised a solution which was resolved by gallon jugs being delivered for us to use for toilet water and all other water needed. A tad unprofessional when paying the amount you pay to stay here. We were promised a refund of the day we had no water which I would have appreciated but we have yet to get word on if this is happening and it hasnât hit my account so assuming they are not only unprofessional but donât uphold their word either. I wouldnât recommend this place honestly to anyone as there are several places in the area that Iâm sure youâd be able to avoid the stress and anxiety we had to endure on what was supposed to be a nice vacation.
My family and I enjoyed the views, location and beautiful home during our spring break. Getting up and down the mountain was an adventure in itself. The home was roomy and fit all 6 of us with plenty of room to spare. The bath tub was off due to current water restrictions which was a bummer but completely understandable. Exploring near the property in the National forest was just beautiful and relaxing. The views are amazing
This property was perfect for our weeklong stay. It is in a very quiet area with a lot of privacy. The house is exactly as described and the photos are accurate. The kitchen had everything we needed and the open floor plan on the main level suited our needs. We will definitely stay here again!
Spectacular views and great accommodations were what this home was all about. Owners/management were super responsive when we had a lock issue, everything was great. Would love to come back some time.
Beautiful house. Very well equipped. Perfect for me(72) and my 3 adult sons(43-50). Located close to some lovely parks and some fun brewpubs. Highly recommended!
Great property. Everything was clean and tidy. The view was amazing and I do not think the listing does it justice. We really enjoyed just hanging out and enjoying the view and the scenery. It was close enough to some amenities and to Red Rocks. Would return.
Beautiful solitude and view....satisfactory amenities.
The Good: property sets at the end of a road near the top of the mountain range with a driveway that slopes down to the property. You are in a wooded area but with open views of the mountains from the deck, hot tub, and a few windows. Other homes around appear to be mostly vacation or rental properties with no sight or sound of any nearby neighbors.
The OK: the home itself has minimal recent updating in the past 20 years; the electric baseboard heating is a challenge as you have to have the bedrooms set to about 60 and the living areas to about 75 to be consistently comfortable; mouse traps everywhere that we had to move to keep our small dog from getting to; had to shovel path ourselves on deck to hot tub and to edge of deck to enjoy the view; instructions were to put trash in bins in garage, but garage door handle is locked....when I reached out to management they said it is not locked and that I just need to push hard....who would think to do that?; pellet stove in living room was out of commission; kitchen is fairly well stocked but could use some serving bowls; a couple interior doors don't actually latch; main front door deadbolt seems to barely lock; no lighting over main dining room table for evening meals or game time; interior decor could use a refresh.
The Bad: nothing I would actually consider bad. We went primarily for the quiet and solitude and got exactly what we were looking for. I just like to give as thorough a review as possible.
We enjoyed our stay and had a great time hiking around Bailey
Our Vrbo was roomy and we had a blast with the foosball table
We are talking about returning in July, so we can enjoy the deck with warmer weather
Lovely, lovely views, spacious kitchen with a large dining table that was perfect for family meals and games. Be judicious with water use, property manager was easy to connect with. Make sure you have at least an AWD vehicle because road to house is more of an off-road experience in parts.
The property is fantastic for a large family. There is plenty of space inside and out. You can't beat the views from the deck. Not all the windows on the main floor would open. The owner/management tried to get someone to come to fix it but because it was a holiday weekend he was unable. We appreciated his communication and that he tried to fix it. Overall the stay was great!
We really enjoyed our stay and the place worked out very well for us. Only negatives were hot tub was not clean enough for some people, I was the only one of our group to get in one time. And the mattresses in the downstairs bedroom are really sub standard for an adult. Otherwise we look forward to returning.
The house was a great fit for us. It was unfortunate that we were visiting during a mid 90's hot spell but we appreciated that management brought out additional fans.
Several handles used to open/close the windows were broken or even non-exisitant making the much needed cool night air impossible for some guests. In addition, the hot water handle in the master bath is broken.
The grill needs some serious maintenance- we almost gave up on it and we had engineers in our party. It was only after much wasted time that we got it to work properly which made for a very late dinner.
The only other negative was the smell of cat or cat litter in the basement. It was quite strong & unpleasant for anyone using the game room or sleeping in the bedroom down there.
It may sound like we had a contentious stay but we really did have a lovely time. We are a geographically dispersed family who happen to be very closely knit. This little house on the mountain felt like home to us and we thank you for that. Its little imperfections were just like any family- perhaps we all need a little work but are full of love and laughter!
