Had a great weekend stay, house is an easy drive , cozy little 2 bedroom house. The house was very clean and well maintained . It rained most of the time so we couldnât not enjoy the fire pit or the gazebo out front . Would definitely stay here again !!
The host was responsive and helpful. The location was remote enough to feel like and escape, but close enough to food, groceries, and entertainment for a wonderful weekend. Thanks for the wonderful time!
We cannot say enough about this beautiful cottage on the mountain! It was very clean and had everything you could need. The host was very kind and quick in responding. Be sure to get the WIFI and door code because you will not have service. Bring snacks and grocery items needed. The town of Bakersville is about 10 minutes away and there's not much to eat since the storm, but it was so nice to sit on the porch and enjoy the peaceful stream right in the front yard. Pictures don't do it justice. It was clean. We went to Roan Mountain to see the rhododendrons.
Absolutely loved our stay at yellow mountain cottage! Check-in was super easy, the house itself had just about everything you could need in terms of toiletries, linens, towels, and spices/cooking tools, which was really nice to not have to worry about. It was very clean and upkept, and such a cozy little home. We had so much fun in the creek, the scenery was beautiful. 10/10 would recommend!
We enjoyed our time here. Everything was neat and clean and the host was easy to communicate with. We would recommend this place and hope to be back in the future.
Wonderful house nestled in the hills. Did a combination of relaxing and working remotely - there is an excellent Internet connection. The house is very comfortable and has everything we needed. The scenery is amazing. I loved walking along the road, watching the creek, and saying hello to the friendly neighborhood dogs. We also drove down to the Toe River and tried some fishing there. This place is off the beaten track. I think this is an advantage, but take your time on the roads after you get off the major highways.
This home was clean (especially for a home in the mountains). The beds were comfy, and the bathroom was updated nicely. The Keurig was a nice touch.Communication with the property manager was excellent through the app. I inquired about checkout procedures and received a prompt reply.Five stars because I definitely would stay here again, although I would bring simple amenities like paper towels and hand towels.
We really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful, quirky home. I loved the imperfections of the house, it greatly added to its charm. The house was impeccably clean and had everything we might need. It was very kid friendly with a nice collection of toys, and a large grassy area for the kids to run around. The check-out list was simple, without too many things needing to be done. The area was very quiet and peaceful. We would love to come back again!
This was a great stay for us. The house is older but updated. The cooling system kept it nice and cool despite record heat in NC during our stay, and the kitchen is very well appointed. It had everything we needed to cook some nice meals, and a very nice propane grill that we used a couple of times.
The living area is large and open, with comfortable reclining chairs and a couch, the bedrooms are great, with comfortable beds, and the shower is nice and hot. There are three great spots outdoors to sit -- a couple of cushioned rockers on the porch where I liked to sit while I had my morning coffee and listen to the birds (it's very quiet except for the wildlife, and after hearing a hooded warbler for a couple of days, I finally got a good look at one), a gazebo with chairs and a side table, and a fire pit with Adirondack chairs.
There's a cleared path down to the creek, which is nice and cold, and some peach trees, which were pretty loaded with fruit that wasn't ripe yet. Inside, there were some games and a small collection of really good books. Also a nice, big Roku TV that we watched a couple of movies on.
The Bakersville area is really interesting, and I spent a lot of time with the photo history book of the area, as well as learning about the Spruce Pine mining industry and its importance in world-wide silicone chip manufacturing.
The instructions were clear and easy to follow, and communicating with the host was quick and easy. All in all, a great few days!
