I thought Hyatt Place was a trusted establishment known for professionalism and cleanliness— sadly I was mistakenly wrong. After booking, I called to confirm the shuttle run times and was told it runs every 30 minutes 24 hours a day; the front desk also told me there may be some traffic but the driver is headed to baggage claim now. Due to the design of baggage claim and where hotel shuttles pick up— i found myself outside waiting for a van “that was on its way” for 45-1 hr. The hotel is less than 2 miles away mind you. I had a hard time believing the driver was stuck in traffic because I saw several other vans from different hotels come and go TWICE while standing outside waiting in subzero temperatures. Once I got to the hotel, I was told they no longer had the room I reserved which was a 1 bed king. I asked if there would be any compensation for this situation. The front desk guy then told me he would see when the people who handle that come in “later” and would email me. so I went to the room. Immediately upon entering, I saw a bug crawling on the wall toward me. I immediately gathered my things and returned to the front desk. I told the man I saw a bug in my room, I won’t be staying, and I’d like a refund. No refund occurred and I never received any follow up information from the hotel. There’s so much more that happened just not enough space.
