Our room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable, with a charming rustic feel. The entire hotel was well maintained, and the staff were warm and welcoming. Breakfast offered plenty of options, and the added touch of a hot beef stew in the lobby on a cold day was such a thoughtful surprise. Highly recommend the Black Bear Inn!

Hotel inside & outside is very clean. Plenty of Safe Parking. Hotel Staff were Welcoming. Excellent Climate Control in rooms and everything worked great (except TV Remote in my room was stubborn to power On/Off). Rooms are clean & Quiet, but recommend bringing a fan or whitenoise device just in case. Beds --though new & plush-- were much Too Soft for me/my back, I had to make a Pallet on the Floor in order to sleep. I booked thru Expedia (known for giving Users a "Final Total Price") however, I was very Unpleasantly surprised at check in to be told the Hotel charges an ADDITIONAL $8/Night for 'hotel expenses'..! Since they offered "complimentary" pretzels, coffee, ice cream, and soup, I'm guessing that's the reason --I'd had rather kept my $16 & bought some Pastries at Governor's Restaurant down the road! Breakfast was good b/c of offering Protein choices like prepared Omelets with Sausages or breakfast sandwiches. There was also juice, coffee /liquid creamers, waffle maker, Fruit loops & Plain Cheerios, oranges, yogurt, toast and bagels available (just needed Raisan Bran and some pastries to reach perfection). Seating area is small, but there are 2 outdoor areas to sit as well as their cozy, nicely decorated Lobby.
