Communication was excellent. The house was as explained and expected. The last road to the driveway was interesting, and the driveway was not the easiest to navigate. They recommended four-wheel drive. We had four-wheel drive and all-wheel drive and still struggled. So we just walked up to the cabin. It wasnât a big ordeal because you are on a dead-end street. Overall, we would select to stay here again.
Absolutely gorgeous views and secluded. Although it doesnt mention 4 wheel drive, it wouldn't hurt to be on the safe side with the unexpected rain/snow (drive way has a decent incline with a switchback).
We enjoyed our stay very much! We had a group of 9 and all slept comfortably (with one teen on the couch). The cabin is as described in the listing - we enjoyed the hot tub and fire pit as well as the gorgeous views. The drive way is gravel, curvy and steep. There was some snow/ice when we arrived so it was challenging getting parked but it melted over the next few days. You definitely need snow chains and/or four-wheel drive in the winter when staying at this property.
Had an amazing long weekend at the Sky Rock lodge. Very private, bright, clean and well appointed newer log house. Breathtaking views and beautiful sunrises as the house faces east. Very quiet and also had a few sightings of local wildlife. Four deer were grazing one evening while we had dinner inside. Banner Elk is close by and has good restaurants and grocery stores. We would definitely come back.
