The cabinbwas great, perfect location for snowboarding with a gorgeous view! Hot tub doesn't work, this is listed in fine print so easy to miss when booking, and excessive texts and emails from the property management company, l like to relax and disconnect on vacation, not be borhered with a bunch of unnecessary messages.
Pros:Great views. Fast WiFi. Comfortable-enough beds. Super convenient driveway for loading/unloading a vehicle.Cons:Lack of a true living area.Front shower - slow drain causes water to accumulate in bottom of tub during shower.Fireplace was temperamental. Sometimes worked, sometimes did not.Downstairs - Gap at bottom of exterior door caused a bad draft and made it extremely cold. The lower level of the home was basically unusable.Home should not be filterable by "hot tub" when the hot tub is not guaranteed to be in working order. We paid a premium rental price for this home and feel we got shortchanged.
Loved the location! Very cute cottage. Some updating needed but overall had everything we needed. Glad we read the previous reviews and it was noted coffee maker was drip and not Keurig. It was very cold in the area, so downstairs was cooler than we are use to and only had fireplace to heat. Will consider using this again.
The host, Mandy, was there when we arrived and gave us a lesson on the locking system. She was very pleasant and helpful. The cabin was perfect for the two of us. We were very comfortable in the downstairs room with the fireplace and bigger tv. We did wish for local channels to check the weather (and World Series scores on, tho). We would love to return someday to the beautiful area of North Carolina.
Home is close enough to downtown but just far enough to be away from it and peaceful at night. Home is as described. Had 1 question/issue while we were visiting but response was excellent.
This was a first âgirls tripâ for my mom, sister, and myself. We recently lost my father, and wanted to get away. The only âmust haveâ for us was a hot tub. The listing included a working hot tub when I made the reservation. After I paid in full I realized that the post was changed saying the hot tub did not work. I called to address the issue prior to our trip. I was told that the hot tub had been fixed. We get there and the hot tub doesnât work. The TVâs in both bedrooms were also inoperable. I sent messages over a 2 hour time frame the day of check in. I called the number provided the next day to report the issues. I was told that I would receive a call back. That call never came. Upon returning to the cabin the next day I observed 2 young men sitting at the table outside by the hot tub. When I pulled in they jumped up and said they were there to work on the hot tub bc it had a leak. Within 5 minutes they left and the hot tub was still inoperable. The price of this cabin is too high for the amenities that you receive.
For the cost of what we paid for the rental, it was fantastic. It has 2 great outdoor spaces, with a top and lower deck. It is small, but enough space for what we needed. It needs a few simple things, that I noticed others mention, like more towels. We are 60 guest and had to maneuver to get up the outdoor steps and to get in to the high ledge bath tub/showers. We found the furniture and beds comfortable. The kitchen had just about anything you could use, but a big pot to boil spaghetti. We never figured out how to turn the TV's on in the bedrooms, but that could have just been us?!
Clean, good location. False advertising with the hot tub being listed in the title of the property then immediately after arrival we were told that the hot tub is not an amenity for guest use. This was a requirement in our choice of property and we would have absolutely not rented this location had they updated their listing.Multiple items did not work. The dishwasher was broken, the TV in the main are did not work, we had to buy batteries for the remotes. The fireplace downstairs did not work and the heating system doesnât reach that area. This resulted in the downstairs unusable due to temps below freezing. The hot tub was also not working (when we reported this, that is when we were told that it was not for guest use). The communication of property management was good from booking to check in. After that, the response has been very poor.
Clean & Warm place! No lines of communication with humans though
Hello! We picked this house because it was close to Beech Mountain. It was cozy and great, however we only picked it because of the hot tub. When we got there it wasnât working. When we reached out to guest services we could only speak to a bot. The bot gave us several phone numbers to reach out to, but they were phone numbers for agencies in Colorado, and when we called them they told us they had no idea how we got their numbers. The bot told us someone would come out to get the hot tub working, but no one ever did. If there were a greater emergency or any other question we needed answered we would not have been able to communicate with anyone, since there was no phone number or anyone local to reach out to. It is a nice place but not worth the money for the amenities not working and inability to speak with an actual person. This review might be the only way of notifying the owner about this issue. Would we be able to get some type of refund or discount? Otherwise it was clean and we were grateful to have a warm place to stay!
Loved the location and the view off the porch especially. Many deer passed through.
Several problems unfortunately. 1)The door code and door lock were inoperable. Had to call Vacasa and get key to lock box and physical key. Even then, the door would not lock behind us. 2) Internet did not work until third day of stay. Again, this required phone time with Vacasa. 3) Hot water tap in second bedroom would not produce hot water. 4) Both tubs had unpleasant black mold on grout and caulk that might have been easily corrected with bleach. Given the price for rental, these problems were unacceptable.
The cabin had an adorable mountain vibe and aesthetic that was consistently applied throughout the home. The location was convenient to a winery, general store, banner elk town and hiking while still being secluded. Though overall well appointed, the home needed some repairs. Wifi was completely down which was disappointing as it left us with no tv and poor cell reception. The hot tub was clean and functional but the abundance of chemicals stung our eyes as well as its cover not easy to pull off, and there was no hot water in one of the bathroom sinks due to a faucet handle not functioning. Overall it was still a lovely stay and could be 5 stars with the above issues addressed.
So happy with this choice (I had saved about 14 options), it was just delightful for two people. Quiet, comfortable, nice deck with a lovely view. Our first day was rainy and we were still treated to sitting on the covered deck. Some time weâll be back and walk the trails. I was sad to leave.
