Marathon weekend

I was in Barcelona to run the Marathon, see the sights and meet with a friend. It was a very good location for transport being close to the Metro and the Airport bus. The room was fine as a single although a bit cramped and was lit via a lightwell. The walls appeared to be a bit thin as I could hear the next room when they were a bit noisier which was not a problem in the end. The wi-fi seemed to need to be reconnected daily. The staff were very courteous and efficient. Good value.

Brilliant

Fantastic location. Rooms lovely. Staff all speak good English and are helpful. Breakfast may cost 8 euros, but you can go round as many times as you want. Would recommend and stay there again.

Superb in every way

The location, standard and friendliness of the Caledonian were all superb. The rooms were fab. Cleaned daily. Reception staff were really nice, helpful and spoke good English. The breakfasts was 8 euros each, but eat as much as you want. Great start to the day. :-D. Perfect place to be based to explore Barca. Would go back there without hesitation.

Good value for money

The room is smaller than I expected, but Ok as I didn't spend much time in the room. I expected a glass tumbler instead of a cheap thin plastic cup for brushing my teeth ! In general I was happy with the hotel apart from the noise. I heard very strange noise every night . It sounded like water was constantly draining from a pipe. It was very loud and lasted for at least an hour. I accept noise when people are running the tap in the next room. When the cleaners were hoovering, the vacuum cleaners kept banging my door. This should not happen.

a good christmas break

A very pleasent staff.attentive and helpful.the hotel was basic but the lounge day area andbar was closed.it was what we wanted as a base for our tours of barcelona.

Clean and great location

Really enjoyed this hotel. It is 2 minutes from the nearest metro station (Universitat) and right in the heart of the city centre, making it a 5 minute walk to get to Las Ramblas. Since the metro in Barcelona is very well connected, you can pretty much get anywhere. The hotel itself was very clean and modern, with a small balcony, and also had a mini bar fridge - handy to store our own water and drinks on a hot day. Staff were very friendly as well. Only down sides are that there was nothing to do in the actual hotel, besides breakfast. Also, the cleaners sometimes would ignore the "do not disturb sign" and knock the door anyway to see if our room wanted cleaned. Overall, though the location and hotel were excellent.

Barcelona Trip

Location of hotel is very good. Location is 10min walk to Plaza Catalunya and 15 min to La Ramblas. You can find good restaurant near hotel . Room was neat d clean. However basic amenities missing - Electric kettle , water bottles were not available in room.

great value hotel.

We chose this hotel as it was good value for money, not too far from all the main sights, metro stop nearby and 10 mins walk to the Ramblas. It certainly exceeded our expectations, we will definitely stay there again when we next visit Barcelona, for the price we paid it was perfect.
