The hotel and room it’s self was lovely; very clean and good layout. Only slight complaint in regards to the room was it did not have Breakfast teabags only herbal teas. Before visit was unaware you had to an additional fee to use the spa which was disappointing. The hotel was also quite far out from the beach and tourist attractions although a local bus got you there in around 50 mins which, we did not mind. Overall, pleasant stay.

Nice hotel lovely staff

Myself and my sister had a good stay at Melia. Rooms are comfortable although very economical in regards to space. Small but good use of space. The air conditioning couldn't be turned down-we had to either tell them to turn it off by the mains or freeze. Not a bad location. Good location especially if you want the heart of Barcelona without being woken up by club go-ers

Not a five star hotel

If you like to sleep, go the a different hotel, because the walls and the floor are so thin, that you can hear everything from your neightbours. In the first night I had a room on the 2nd floor. Every 30 minutes what a noise from the backyard side simular to starting a car. They charge 15 Euros for using a tiny swimming pool. The staff is not properly trained. They send us to the wrong place (about 500 m away).

Terrible experience

If you like to sleep, look a for an other hotel! The walls and the floors are thin you can hear everything going on there. The first night there was a noise in the courtyard every 30 minutes (as if the motor of a lorry was started). They charge 15 EUROS if you want to go to the swimming pool! This is the worst 5 star hotel ever.

A good 5 star & good value

Very friendly & helpful staff at reception.Suggested and organised tour bus & visit to the unfinished church (not to be missed ) Extremely clean and spacious double room with an excellent en suite. Breakfast very good. Hotel located near the Diagonal shopping area & close to tour bus stop ; taxi to La Rambla cost €8 It is a 5 star hotel , good value & we would stay there again.

Value for money hotel

Just returned from Barcelona - very interesting city and lots to see and explore although expensive. Hotel was very good and included breakfast at a good rate. However, very disappointed that there was a separate charge for the Spa and gym - no reference was made to this on the hotel website!

Great experience, but not the best.

This hotel was not a disappointment but was neither heaven. I visited the hotel during the winter in feb 2010. It was JUST it looked in the pictures. The hotel has a really nice reception and the rooms are well clean with excellent bathrooms and toilets. The location is good because there is a shopping mall nearby AND is little far from the centre which can be done by travelling. Considering the value for money i think i would give this hotel 8/10 rating. I would also suggest that this is not a perfect 5 star hotel as it lacks some thing. It can be 4.5 star Things i liked: 1) free internet facility (wi-fi) 2) Very quite 3) clean 4) great bed and bathroom 5) good entrance 6) great location things i did not like 1) Toiletries and other stuff being a 5 star hotel are not provided unless requested 2)Staff not very good at english and not very friendly 3)Hotel is not the best looking from outside 4) very expensive breakfast, gym facilities, pool, massage etc. (rip off) I would suggest that if you do not consider the value of money than the the HILTON hotel which is near this hotel would be the best in all terms. Else it is not a disappointment.
