Positives:
The location is excellentâvery close to the main attractions. The place was clean; especially considering it appears to be undergoing ongoing improvements and may not currently have the resources for immediate upgrades.
Negatives:
âą Check in process: The address provided by Expedia was incorrect. Locals mentioned that the owner might be avoiding taxes, which could explain why the listed address (40) did not exist; the actual location was at number 38. Expedia should verify this information.
Communication with the owner/manager was difficult. We understood that we needed to pay local taxes and a security deposit, but the owner/manager did not seem to understandâor careâhow these payments should be made. We asked at least four times for instructions before finally receiving a payment link.
After that, we were required to confirm that we had read the propertyâs strict rules by completing a four question quiz. Only then were we given three different security codes: one for the main door, one for the building area, and one for the lockbox.
The entire check in process took nearly three hours.
âą Bathroom size: The washroom was extremely small. It was so cramped that we chose not to shower. I am an average sized person (177 cm, 73 kg), and even I found it unusable.
âą Security deposit: We are still waiting for the refund. We were very careful to follow all the rules, and we have photos showing that everything was left exactly as required.
Convenient location, but we did experience some equipment failure with the locking of the front door and I feel like I got scolded like a child when I didnât do anything wrong the door was not locking. We had to go to an alternative motive of locking the door with a key that was in a lock box, but I couldnât get that combination from him except through the WhatsApp and my phone was dead and I felt like he was not very nice over the intercom. If youâre not equipped with the knowledge of using the WhatsApp, this is not a good place to stay because it is the only way that he will communicate.
This was a scam, they were asking for extra charges that werenât fit into the description on this random website before checkin , when I asked if I can pay in person or another way they said my booking was cancelled and never sent me the exact address. Expedia didn't do anything to help either
We didn't get to stay here & had to pay for a different hotel. There was no communication. I would have been dropped off on the sidewalk in my wheelchair with no way to get in. Don't use this place!! Go to Hotel Garbi Millenni. They speak English well, are really friendly, close to stores & food places. The room wasn't big but clean & stylish.
Looks like this a scam. Very hard to communicate with them as they don't respond to message or if respond are very rude. We have not received check-in instruction until we are at the place and there is no place with building #40. Took help from locals to contact the host. We were asked to pay the deposit, when deposited then got the check in instructions. Host not refunded the deposit.Expedia must not entertain such hosts!
Not communicatable before arrival. 24 hours prior arrival check in policy is absurd. The staff canceled our booking upon our arrival. The address in Expedia is missing street number â40â resulting us a hard time to locate the property. We asked local people and no one knows them! This is more like a scam!
I wish that there was a no star review. We never saw the inside of the hotel as they ignored all of our messages and we had to stay elsewhere. They robbed us and Expedia should not be working with them. Worst experience of my life.
The room was lovely and donât be put off by the security measures taken by the owner. There are several key codes to contend with, but once your in itâs lovely.
Thereâs a lovely tapas bar 2 mins away at the end of the street and a short walk from there is the high street. The harbour is a mile away as is the Barcelona cathedral.
I thought the location was absolutely perfect and will definitely be returning đđđ
