Some cleanliness issues (coffee cup lid on floor near inside door by desk, bathroom sliding door was very dingy/dusty on the inside of the bathroom). Otherwise fine. Bar was not fully stocked for cocktails on the menu.

The property is unique as to the style of the rooms and the nostalgic look back at 1950s motor courts. My only knock on the property is that we must have removed about a dozen stink bugs from the room.

Pros: Conveniently located. Kitschy vibe. Great little courtyard. Nice "lounge" area at the check/in with games, coffee maker, fireplace. Cons: The blind is only light-filtering, not room-darkening, which allowed so much light in from the outside "porch" (as well as the street light). It also had a broken piece that left a hole for even more light to enter. There were some kind of Dove Mens' Care product stickers affixed to the top of that window frame, which the cleaning person somehow failed to see and remove. We struggled with opening the main door from the inside. Perhaps that locking mechanism can be looked at (#4).

Amber, Cameron & the rest of staff were so kind & helpful. We had a minor hiccup & they took care of it. The heated salt pool & outdoor fire w/ s’mores was a great way to end a busy (bourbon) day. We’ll be back to the Bardstown Motor Lodge!

Rooms were spacious, beds and pillows very comfortable. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, setting up the fire pits and keeping them fed with wood, supplying ice and other necessities. The entire property was very clean, but furniture and rugs had some stains. The pull down shades did not block the exterior light, had to get creative to darken the room. We loved the courtyard, did not use the pool but it looked very nice. Given this was a “motor lodge”, my expectations were not that high. I was pleasantly surprised. Last thing - the restaurant was not open for breakfast or lunch - dinner was excellent - we were there 4 nights.

Great location for visiting local distilleries. Downtown Bardstown was only a 10-15 minute walk so we didn’t have to worry about driving after visiting a couple bourbon bars in town.

An ok place to stay.

It wasn’t bad although the other two couples in our group ended up not being able to stay with us. That was disappointing. The rooms were fine. We were right by the pool and they were loud and partying back there til very late. Only other complaint was no vending machines so no pop or evening snacks. Otherwise it was clean and nicely decorated. The bed was comfortable.

Bardstown Retro Oasis

Very clean and quiet rooms. Updated rooms, retro style, really comfortable beds. The staff is also very nice and helpful. Great oasis with a nice pool that is walking distance to Bardstown. Mixed drinks and bar at the pool.
