An old coaching inn that has been gutted to remove all traces of character. That said scrupulously clean, helpful staff, good bedroom (6) up a lot of stairs. Breakfast good (stick to traditional), other options smothered in gloopy inferior Hollandaise sauce or similar. Dinner rather ordinary. Altogether rather overrated in other reviews. Good but not special.
Was very pleasantly surprised by the exceptional cleanliness and service in this hotel. It has all the welcoming warmth of a great British pub, but with the feel of a four star hotel. We had dinner both nights in the restaurant and breakfast both mornings, the food was very good. We were very impressed and would definitely stay again. Highly recommend !
I had a ground floor room that was a good size with en-suite facilities. The room was serviced and the towels changed every day.
There was a good selection of food for breakfast. I ate dinner in the hotel twice when again the was a variety of food.
Our room was very clean and comfortable. Although the stairs upto the room was quiet steep. Breakfast was very nice. We ate there on our last night and would recommend the lamb. It was beautiful.
Decor and condition of room was lovely and very clean.
Bar and terrace area were spotless and had a great atmosphere.
Friendly service from start to finish.
