Overall not too bad, Hotel is very old and there was a 1 inch gap on the top of the door, so someone could’ve been watching us while sleeping we wouldn’t know Rooms are quite small, you can tell that carpets haven’t been washed with extractor ever. Staff is great, people are doing their job, but if facilities doesn’t know how to maintain or manage maintenance departments , thats not a staff problem . Would I come back to this place ? I don’t think so. I would rater spend 500$ a night somewhere else.

Quiet and calm

I loved this place. It’s a hotel that doesn’t make a big deal of itself, but there’s a restaurant, bar, and a liquor store all in the same spot! The beach is so close! There’s a fabulous place to have breakfast right around the corner at Wally’s. The price was very reasonable!!

Surf city hotel will remain my go to for visiting LBI and everything is usually great. Some critiques I have though for this trip was our shower did not really have normal controls, it was either turn left for ice cold water or turn right for burning hot water, no way to get comfortable water temperatures. Another thing was the switch for the fan in the bathroom did not work unless it was held down in a certain way, so we had to put a piece of tape on it to be able to hold it so it would stay on. If these little things are fixed then there’d be really no issues !

Location can't be beat, 50 yards fron a quiet, lovely beach. Rooms were clean and beds comfy. Bathrooms were a little downscale for the price, but immaculately clean. Hotel bar and restaurant are good, not great, but definitely fun and a good value for a short stay. Lively scene in the "nightclub" part of the large bar-restaurant. Good live music selection Age of nightclub patrons skewed mid-20s. Walking distance to lots of other good stuff, though Surf City is not the most "happening" part of LBI. On balance, a GREAT spot for a gorgeous beach weekend in LBI!

We were surprised when we first arrived—there was no one at the front desk. After a while, someone finally showed up, but he looked annoyed, like we were bothering him. If I’m paying to stay at your hotel, I don’t need attitude. Handle your stress—it’s not the guest’s problem. Unfortunately, the bad service didn’t stop there. At the restaurant downstairs, the bartender (a middle-aged white man) was flat-out rude. He ignored every woman at the bar, which made it pretty clear he had a serious problem with women. Completely unprofessional. I also injured my ankle trying to get to the ice machine—half the hotel felt like a safety hazard, with blocked-off areas that were still in use. The path to the broken ice machine was especially dangerous. Our balcony had no space to sit, so we ended up having to sit awkwardly in front of someone else’s window. Not ideal. That said, we still had a great time overall despite the hotel. One big positive: the bed was incredibly soft and comfortable—absolutely amazing sleep.

We stay at alot of hotels, alot. We absolutely loved this place its a one stop park your car because everything is here. Great bar, food , staff . Everyone was Friendly and helpful. Seriously the food was spot on and one of the best old fasions ive had, thank you Paolo for amazing service and laughs. Oh on the way to room we stopped to get a bottle of wine, yes they have a liquor store too😛. We will be back.
