For £90 for a family room with breakfast is excellent value. The room was clean and the staff were warm and welcoming and the breakfast was of incredible value. The shower wasn’t working, literally no running water from the shower head. There was a bath but it was tiny and with mucky boys not ideal. I couldn’t wash my hair due to the shower not working and this did affect our stay. However, £90 for a room and private bathroom with breakfast for 4 was great. Would have reviewed 5 star if shower working.

The staff were all really friendly and the food was exceptional. We ate in the bar both nights and was not disappointed with any of the meals. The rooms were clean but definitely not 4 star, the bed was very hard so not the best nights sleep. The location was great for sightseeing around Northumberland.

Rooms were very clean, food was good and there was no noticeable noise from the A1. Room had a countryside view which was nice to wake up to. Location was spot on for the main attractions of the Northumberland coast. Being picky, the shower pressure was low but that's the only room for improvement.

Staff are excellent, food was great value, large portions and very tasty. Included Breakfast was great value. Room was clean and tidy. Only downside was the bed was very hard and uncomfortable for my wife and I. Great destination for a stopover during a journey or quick visit to Bamburgh and the surrounding area.

Staff was very nice, rooms clean, nice breakfast. Only thing was I did ask for just shower in both rooms which I know isn’t always possible. My daughter got a walk in shower in her room but in the other room was a bath with a shower over. It was ok as I just went and used the walk in shower in my daughters room.

Great quiet room as they are all pn the back away from A1... view if Bamburgh Castle. Clean room. Dog friendly with NO charge. All staff were friendly and courteous. Special mention for the evening restaurant's food... gives any gastro pub a run!

I can honestly say this is one of the best places I've ever stayed & this certainly wasn't what I anticipated when booking. Our party booked prior to bad weather hitting & meaning we had to cancel our plans for onward travel. We ended up altering our plans & stayed on at Purdy Lodge for a second night so as not to risk travelling in snow. We were blown away by how helpful, kind, respectful & accommodating the team here are / were. From the second we arrived to check in, to when we came to leave. The check in was friendly, efficient & informative. The room was well equipped, spacious and comfortable & it had a sea view! Over fields & all rooms have a countryside view, not that of the A1 out the front. Rooms are quiet through the night, although we did hear guests thunder past the room twice with no consideration for others, but this isn't any fault of the accommodation or staff. This is a very dog friendly and genuinely welcoming place & our time in the dining area was made very comfortable with us and other guests in mind. For this we were so grateful, thank you. Some inconsiderate owners hadn't picked up after their dogs outside, but this could be people stopping at the services, not staying at the lodge & everywhere else was spotless so again, not the accommodation at fault. The building was warm, well equipped, easy to access & felt comfortable and you could tell that staff care about their place of work. The BEST fish & chips ever are made here too lol!
