We had a great visit to Berkeley Springs with our grandkids. The house is just a few blocks from the State Park with the spring, an easy walk even for a three year old. Several fun and interesting shops on the way. We mostly ate at home, but enjoyed the excellent coffee/sandwich shop across from the park for lunch a couple times. The house has a truly strange collection of art and craft objects, fun to look at. Generally well equipped and quite comfortable for the five of us, with a fenced in garden that we and our dog enjoyed. Would definitely visit again.
Very efficient and responsive host. The location was perfect to visit sites in center of town. The decor was very eclectic and would not be appropriate for families, but interesting and fun for adults. My only want was of storage for my clothes. The closets were packed and no real set of drawers. Additionally, for some, the sheer amount of decor could be a bit overwhelming. The company was lovely and I would not hesitate to stay in their properties on subsequent visits.
Our group had a great time in Berkeley Springs this year!
There was a bit of confusion about whether we could adjust the thermostat - the check in/check out information provided by email ahead of time referenced resetting the thermostat when we leave, but there was a note on the thermostat in the house indicating that we were not allowed to change the temperature setting. Things got a little chilly but we made do!
