Kris is an amazing host and it was lovely to be provided with a cream tea upon arrival with homemade scones absolutely delicious and milk for a cup tea after our long journey was very welcoming. The accommodation was very well equipped and clean.
Would thoroughly this place and a great place to use as a base for seeing lots of local places
Warm welcome on arrival, comfortable base, visited Bude, Hartland Quay, Westward Ho. Dartington glassworks a bit of a highlight, along with those scones, cream and jam.
This property was ideal for our annual get together (5 ladies). Three well appointed bedrooms, all en-suite. A very well equipped kitchen and warm and cosy with central heating and a log burner. Ideally placed for various walks and close to pubs for bar meals or Sunday roast. Kris made us very welcome and her gift of a gluten free cream tea was much appreciated. The whole was spotlessly clean. Thank you, we thoroughly enjoyed it.
A very comfortable home with stunning views of rolling hills and high-hedged lanes. We absolutely loved it here - thank you Kris and Pete for sharing your paddock - our morning coffee will never be the same! We explored the area on foot - walking along the coastal path. The coastline is so beautiful and the locals so friendly. We hope to return soon!
Fabulous weekend spent at the barn. Firstly communication with Kris was spot on, quick to reply to messages and very helpful. The barn was exactly as listed, plenty of space for the 6 of us but very cosy too. It was just perfect, beautiful outside seating areas, a basket of logs for the woodburner and a very welcoming cream tea when we arrived. We had some lovely walks in the area, and visited the local pubs too, just perfect!
We had a wonderful break at the Parlour in Hartland! The accommodation was immaculate, spacious and very well equipped. The welcome gift of a gluten free cream tea was a very thoughtful addition, and reflected the care put into the details to provide for an easy and enjoyable stay. We would highly recommend!
This property certainly had the wow factor. All 3 bedrooms were of an extremely generous size with en suites also of a very good size and all with a lovely rural outlook. The lounge and kitchen areas were similarly spacious and well equipped. There was a smaller games area with table football and pool and a well stocked cupboard with a variety of other games. Outside was a covered seated area as well as a table large enough to accommodate all 8 guests as well as a bbq. The outside area was secure which was important for guests with dogs. The owners were extremely friendly and helpful and a nice touch was the scones, jam and cream left for us to have. We also thought having a television in all the bedrooms as well as the lounge was a thoughtful touch. Needless to say the whole family and dogs enjoyed a really wonderful stay.
It felt like home from the moment we walked through the door. Plenty of space inside and out. Beautifully furnished with everything you would need. Peaceful, relaxing and gorgeous cows, sheep, birds and bats fabulous!!
Kris and Pete are very kind and helpful providing us with useful local information and suggestions. We have spent a great week there. The house is very children friendly and we are two families with four children under 5 year old. They had great fun running about in the garden. Kris has also brought us the beach toys for the children to play at beach. Speacial thanks to Kris that she offered help to search for the lost book and post me the chopsticks I left behind. Thank you very much!
The website did not really tell the story properly. The property surpassed expectations (and they were quite high), there was a new covered outside seating area, and we were constantly entertained by the swallows, martins and sparrows, not to mention the birth of a calf just across the way. A little tricky to do the first couple of miles of any journey, but well worth that because of all the lovely places to visit in the area. And the fitter guests will have no trouble walking to Hartland with its pubs, small shops and post office. Altogether great.
The property was the perfect place to stay, owned by the perfect hosts, in a beautiful tranquil part of the world. We had a small dog and a 15 month old granddaughter, and we could not have been made to feel more relaxed and at home by Kris and Pete the hosts. Thoroughly recommend this property. The upstairs bedrooms are stunning, and the downstairs bedroom was just what we needed with our dog who unfortunately hates being left on his own. The facilities at the property covered every eventuality we needed for the weather. A great job Kris and Pete.
What an awesome location and property, lived up to everything.
We spent a week here, 2 families & 4 dogs, plenty of space to get away from each other if needed. Location was awesome, in 1week we only saw 3 cars, 2 bikes &1 tractor. Very quite and a great little sun trap in the garden.
Great place to base yourself and explore both Devon & Cornwall
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the beautiful cottage! Everything was perfect, can not fault it at all! Kris and Pete were both so friendly and welcoming. The scones went down a treat!
Kris was so attentive, having noticed a few items had been left behind after our trip, and was more than happy to drop them off to us as she was heading our way!!
We loved our holiday and would definitely consider renting out the property again!!
We all had a lovely holiday here, the house was perfect for us, 5 adults and 2 young children. Plenty of room both inside and out for the girls to play, we arrived a little early but were made welcome and Kris had made us some yummy scones and gave us some nice jam and clotted cream as well.
The house is in a very beautiful part of Devon , we went to some great beaches, donât miss going to Welcombe beach which our 2 little ones thought was great. I would also recommend going to Hartland Abbey, the gardens are amazing and I should think they would be spectacular in the summer. If you are considering booking this house we would certainly recommend it!
