I don't know where to start...I can only presume that any positive reviews or ratings of these premises must clearly be based on the restaurant rather than the rooms. Everything in this room was filthy. There was evidence of vermin, cockroach traps under the bed, broken sink, torn curtains, the windows do not shut. Smashed windows seen on the outside of the building. The only evidence that this was the same property as the one advertised on the website was the blue piano in the entrance. No staff available after 9pm. Absolutely no way is this a 3 star property. Avoid!

A very peaceful weekend break
It was very quiet and comfortable. We only saw one other soul during our stay, a man who briefly emerged from a doorway to give us our room key. Further staff communication is indicated by mobile phone numbers sellotaped to doors and other surfaces. The extractor fan in the bathroom didn't work and the room was rather stuffy in the heatwave - a small fan helped a bit. We had a very nice breakfast at Boston Tea Party, a few metres away.
Room was fine, area was ok. Short walk to tram stop. Check in was very difficult though. Called a number, gave us the door code, told us to find a key in a basket and go to that room. Nobody around at all! Went to the room and went out for the night to a concert. 4 missed calls, 10:40pm being the last after the concert had finished, my partner had a text asking “is this [surname]?” and asking for payment. If they sorted check in, they’d get payment then! Getting back at 11:45pm, tired and having travelled 5 hours in the day to meet someone when you’re back in the premises so you can pay just felt awkward, uninviting and made a bit of a vibe

Liked - brilliant location, clean, comfortable, good value
Disliked - building closed up and hsd to call to check in, supposed to have a bar and restaurant but no sign of them being open
Arriving at the door with a phone number to ring isnt the warmest of welcomes. Given key and found room in a lovely building. Room was large, good wifi, has parking, close to a big Morrisons, lots of positives.
No breakfast offered, did try the food in evening. Far too salty and expensive for what it was. Big homeless problem local. Would stay again.
Lovely little guest house with the restaurant below it. The person at the checkout was welcoming and friendly, he brought my luggage up for me to my room which is really helpful because there's no lift, only stairs.
Food was delicious (Asian-approved spiciness) and staff was nice. On the Sat evening when I was there , there had been a live band playing outside the restaurant area, they had a stage for live performances. Lovely atmosphere with good food and music. Although if you're trying to get an early rest when a live band is playing (think it ends around 12am) , it would be a bit challenging..
Only thing I would say is that the room doors are not auto-locked so you'll need to remember to lock your room door every time you come out -but it's still relatively safe because they've a main door to the rooms that's auto-locked. During outside of restaurant hours, there won't be anyone there but I was able to safely leave my luggage at the reception before coming back to pick it up about 2 hours later without any issues since the main entrance is auto-locked.
Would definitely come back to stay if I'm attending an event nearby again. It's situated in a nice area of Birmingham as well, and Morrisons is just across the road.

Not to a good standard
Stopped over and have to say for the price i paid i was disappointed with the room. Its very old and tired in needxof a refurbishment
Blue Piano is a wonderful place to stay in Birmingham and I would personally recommend it to anybody who is considering a trip to Birmingham! The staff are hospitable, accomodating and kind! We really enjoyed our stay and would love to return.
The Picture that is advertised on you Your site is Totally different to the real picture. !!
The Property is very tired , very dated
Electrical Sockets needs attention
Sink needs to be replaced , Due to crack through Basin.
Found Rodent box placed behind Bed
Sticky tape on Door frame
Curtains to be rehung ,as much of curtain was detached from Curtain Rail
Shower tap to allow water flow from tap to shower head Stiff/Stuck -Not working so We couldn’t take a Shower !!
Not at all worth the Money we Paid
Very disappointing
The bed was comfy and clean perfectly made but the cleaning of the room was not dust everywhere and dirt rubbish under the bed curtains not hung properly and really grubby windows I spent first hour of stay cleaning both rooms except under the beds didn't want to touch the stuff. I felt like the housekeeper just went in made the bed after cleaned bathroom and added towels didn't care about the dust on the skirting boards etc I have have an allergy so had to double my medication as couldn't find anyone to speak to.
Bathroom spacious clean but very damaged huge crack in sink and plug broken marks on the wall towel rails etc not fixed securely on the wall
Kettle and fridge in the one bedroom on floor had to clean myself.
TV remote not working and so many chipped furnishings just need to put something over the top so can't be seen and all walls had marks on them or chipped paintwork.
I feel that there was no proudness from them for their property
The restaurant that is attached is wonderful was chosen as son is coeliac and it was good this is why we chose to stay as it hard to find coeliac certified places to eat I was glad that it was very different standard to the hotel section. As we were just using the room to sleep as busy schedule it was ok to just get some sleep so we stayed.
It was a real shock when first walk in to room such a shame. I wrote an email to hotel with no reply as yet
On phoning the mobile number attached to the front door, a member of the kitchen staff let us in and supplied the key to Room 7. This room is unacceptable, with shredded net curtains at the window. The same staff member phoned someone, who arranged for us to have Room 1 instead. Whilst an improvement on Room 7, it is way below an acceptable standard, and should not be let out until cleaned up, at the very least.
