This place in Black Hawk is nice. Far enough from the highway to be secluded and quiet, but close enough to be convenient. The drives to Nederland and various recreation areas weren’t long, and the property has good views of the forest and Rockies from windows and the deck.
(The cabin is up a steep, unpaved road so an all-wheel drive vehicle is recommended if the weather is wet or snowy.)
The cabin isn’t fancy (it’s a cabin after all), but it’s clean and comfortable, with a well-appointed kitchen and a nice fireplace for cold-weather stays. The walk-out basement has a spacious game room with fun games and even some toys for little ones. Wifi has good service and the TV is streaming-ready. One thing to bear in mind is that the cabin is out of range for cellular coverage, at least for Verizon.
We had a very nice stay and would definitely stay there again.
