Listing was thorough which was helpful in this instance because of several factors; getting through the gate , area info related to actual house location , particulars about the property
The Great Aspen Chateau was a great place for a large family gathering. We had 12 adults, a teenager, a 3year old and an infant with plenty of beds and comfortable space for everyone. We drove from 3 states with 5 cars, and it was no problem parking them. Entry to the property was easy and Kellyâs directions to the house were great. Kelly was great to work with and readily available for questions. The roads to the property were paved and easier to drive on than other mountain rentals we have experienced. The lane to the house was a steady incline and steep at the end but very manageable. We did not hear or see any neighbors. It was peaceful and quiet with a gorgeous view. The house itself was well stocked with linens, towels, kitchen utensils, glasses, etc. One of the better stocked houses we have rented. There was not a working ice machine that we found so bags of ice worked. We especially liked the large dining area with two large tables where all of us could sit together. We had a wonderful week at the chateau and would definitely return another year.
Fantastic property. Amazing views in the mountains. And close access to both Black Mountain Main Street and all the surrounding trails. Highly recommend staying here!!
We had a great stay. Kelley was communicative about the details and responded to questions in a timely manner. Location was convenient to downtown Black Mountain. The only issue is the lack of cell phone service, which not a fault of the property, just stating so others are aware. You have to use WiFi calling. I recommend this property for your next visit to the Black Mountain area.
The view was truly stunning, and the location was incredible. Kelley was kind, understanding, and extremely communicative when we had a car breakdown and needed some flexibility on the check-out time. She even offered some help! She made a stressful situation much, much easier.
Our great nieceâs wedding was in Black Mountain and I chose this place because our family could spread out comfortably and we could cook our own breakfast each morning. The extra special surprise was the view of a full moon rising from behind the mountains each night and shining down on the lake.
Large place with a great location and fantastic views. Although itâs a dated house it was pretty clean and had everything you would need. Amazing views from multiple rooms. Photos are not as good as the actual view.
They really nailed it with this "Million Dollar View" description- the clouds wandering in below the mountains and above the pristine reservoir provide an ever changing sight that is captivating and reminded our family of the lochs surrounding the highlands of Scotland. The house was great for kids and adults alike - we even got to see a few bear cubs milling about outside. Kelley, the property manager, was extremely responsive and kind. The kitchen had plenty of fridge & prep space as we were cooking for 16. Love how the bunk room is off the game room for the older kids- they were able to claim the bottom floor and we heard them laughing into the night playing pool and poker. This place felt like home and we were sad to leave.
My family enjoyed their downtime. The view was amazing. As a flatlander, a little nervous driving at night. Thoroughly enjoyed our time away from home.
The place overall was great although we do believe that some parts of the property needed some fixes. The deck in the backyard has a board piece that's broken and the railing is falling apart.
This was a wonderful place for six long time friends to stay while enjoying the beautiful Asheville area! Everyone had their own room with no more than two sharing a bathroom.
House sits high on the mountain with a breathtaking view.
House had everything we needed and the some.
One highlight was seeing 5 black bears several days on our trip up or down the mountain!
Our family very much enjoyed our stay in this property and especially the amazing mountain views. The kitchen was well stocked and the hot tub was very relaxing. Steep drive up, but once you are there the walk into the house is flat.
Myself and five of my besties had a fabulous weekend getaway in Asheville and Laurel Ridge was the perfect place to relax and unwind at the end of our busy days. We found the house neat and clean and very well stocked with everything you need. The kitchen always seems to be a gathering spot for us and I found it to be larger than it appears in the pictures. The furniture was nice and comfy, and the deck and views....absolutely stunning!
Super spacious property, excellent view, great location that's secluded without being remote, a wonderful place to get together with friends or family without feeling crowded
