The host was very friendly and accommodating. She also provided very detailed information on the property and how to use all the amenities. Other than a cleaning person banging aggressively on the door at 9:55 am demanding us to leave it was a great stay!
We absolutely loved our time at this cabin. The view is spectacular! The cabin is equipped with merely everything that you need for a comfortable stay. The master bed is so comfortable, i didnât want to leave. We were lucky to have a thunderstorm one night. Sounds like heaven on the roof. My partner and I were able to cook all of our meals in the kitchen in the cabin. We had a full breakfasts, tacos, hamburgers, brownies, as well as homemade from scratch apple crisp with apples we picked from the Orchard. The setting is very private. We were able to enjoy fires in the evening and a nap on the porch swing and relaxation time in the hot tub without seeing any neighbors. We did have a beautiful doe cross our path on an after dinner walk. Thank you for opening your home to us. We would love to be invited back.
Perfect getaway for our family. We love the trail at the house and the ability to get right on the Benton McKaye (sp) from it. Very quiet and secluded. Canât wait to go back!
Loved it! We especially liked the recommended walking trail leaving right from the property - perfect length for my kids.
I somehow lost/deleted the check in details email (I know this is on me because I remember seeing it!) and they responded right away to help me with the code.
My whole family loved everything about this place and we hope to return!
The cabin was super cozy and very clean, the view was great and our puppy had a great time, the owner was very responsive and helpful, would recommend 1000%!
My husband and I grabbed the opportunity to head to Blueridge for a quick 3 day trip before the mayhem of 5 adult children and their families come to our home this weekend for Thanksgiving. The cabin was the perfect place to relax and return to nature. We are rejuvenated and ready for the crazy to start. We will be back!!
The cabin was perfect for our annual getaway. Everything we needed was supplied and the weather was perfect. Ashly and Chad were great host and we were given some good ideas for daily excursions by them through their welcome binder. We highly recommend Bear Necessities for your next trip to Blue Ridge
Nice and cozy had two fires out side at night with a glass of wine. Cooked some steaks on the outside pit one night and used the hot tub itâs so nice the way itâs placed out side by the woods. We loved our stay the inside had everything we needed.
Bear Necessities was exactly what I was looking for! Easy to get to (though an SUV is great on the mountain roads!), this cabin really helped us get away from it all. The loft was perfect for our kids who made it into their own little retreat when not playing in the yard or cuddling in the swing chair on the porch. The kitchen is cozy but had everything I needed to make some family dinners. The host was communicative and the directions and advice given through the app and website made everything easy and made us feel right at home. We look forward to a return visit soon!
Bear Necessities is a perfect spot for a quick mountain getaway. The cabin is small but has everything needed for a relaxing vacay. We loved everything about this cabin and would definitely stay there again.
Bear Necessities was the perfect cabin for us! My husband and I booked this trip to relax and getaway for a few days. It met all of our expectations and Ashly even checked on us after our first night. Itâs a beautiful cabin and was very quiet and peaceful. Itâs very close to many great restaurants and attractions. The temps at the end of September were in the low 50âs and high 70âs.
The cabin is great, very easy to find and the instructions on getting there and getting in were all very clear. The memory foam mattress was fantastic and helped me get some incredible sleep. Would not hesitate to recommend this property to couples or to a family with one or two small children.
Blown away by this private cottage just 8 minutes away from Blue Ridge. Itâs perfect for 2 people, but could easily fit 4. The outdoor area sold us from the photos and absolutely loved it when we got there! Follow the directions that are provided when driving to the cabin, and make sure you have a car that can handle driving on gravel going up steep hills. We absolutely loved everything and would come back if we plan another trip to Blue Ridge.
everything was great. Owners were easy to deal with. They even suggested trails to hike that are perfect for familys that aren't regular hikers. Amazing porch.. Great shopping and restaurants near by.
We enjoyed a lovely stay at the Bear Necessities cabin over the holidays. Ashly and Chad were beyond accommodating and helped us when we got stuck in snow on our first night. This cabin is very quiet, peaceful, cozy, clean, and has everything you need for a nice getaway. We even brought our dog who loved our daily hikes and sitting by the fire pit, or swinging on the swing. I would recommend all wheel drive if you come during the winter, as the roads in the area as well as on the mountains were very slippery.
This cabin was near perfect! Very comfortable and cozy. There was plenty of firewood provided for the firepit. I have rented numerous times and this was the first time that firewood was provided. The view was wonderful (we stayed at the end of October and the Autumn leaves were beautiful).
It is recommended that one feel comfortable with mountain roads but the nice part of navigating to the cabin was that it is quiet and tucked away (yet you are only about 10-15 minutes from downtown Blue Ridge).
Overall, I highly recommend this cabin. It was wonderful.
Ashley (the owner) communicated well she provided a good deal of helpful information.
