The cabin was lovely! Beautiful area, loved the hot tub, the porch! Just gorgeous. The fire place inside, with a fire was so cozy. Location to activities was perfect. Directions to get there with driving tips about the steep inclines very helpful. Ideas to make the stay even better:1. Better quality towels2. Better quality toilet paper3. Need new frying pan ASAP4. Have some fun âadultâ games. Weplayed âkidsâ monopoly.
Property was located in a beautiful area within easy drive of the downtown Blue Ridge amenities. It is typical mountain roads, steep and gravel but shouldnât be impossible even in regular car. The driveway does have a drop off on one side which was hard to see. It would be nice if there was some landscape lighting along the edge for safety. Also, the house number was impossible to see when we arrived just after dusk. The home was warm and inviting when we arrived. It would have been nice if a couple of coffee pods and some creamer were available since we had to go back out to store in order to have coffee in AM. Hot tub was turned on and warm which was nice. It is around the back of the home and there is no lighting. A little scary at night. Overall, it was a great stay and we appreciate owners who welcome our pets! Favorite dinner was General Ledger. The shrimp and grits were the best! Recommend reservations for all your dinner plans as many places were turning people away who didnât have reservations even though they seemed empty. We also wish we had got to try the rail way bikes. They were booked up. Roo Winery was AMAZING! Dogs welcome! Beautiful and good food and wine. Also stopped by a small local roadside farm on the back roads route to Roo and got the most amazing pork chops ever. All kinds of home grown meats and eggs. Mercier Orchards was also outstanding. We did the tractor tour and bought so many local items and did cider tasting. Dogs outside only.
The location was close to downtown, but the gravel road from the main road was terrible. The master bathtub was dirty and the cabin smelled like dog urine. The bath towels also smelled like dog urine even after we washed them a couple of times. The hot tubâs water smelled unclean like mildew. I did reach out to management and made them aware of the issues and they did bring clean bath towels upon my request. We will not stay here again!
Overall a very good place and stay. The cabin was comfortable and well equipped. Some small things: the access driveway could be smoothed out a bit as a regular sedan risks bottoming out if you donât ride the ridges; the master bedroom double doors need to be made easier to manage, a few windows and the main door need privacy covers of some kind and the the pre-arrival email about the lady bugs is not a very inviting first communicationâŠit was weird and a turn off.
Upon arrival, was delayed over an hour in getting in due to door knob being locked. Hot tub was not turned on. We turned it on and was ready the next day. House overall clean but master bath - hair in shower and on vanity and Mirror was spotty. No kitchen towels. Would be nice to have gotten a little discount. Otherwise, love the cabin!
Nice cabin away from everything! Hot tub was awesome too. Nice area. The only thing I didnât like was that the beds are uncomfortable. Other than that, itâs awesome!
We ended up leaving. The cleaning chemical/air freshiner smell was extreme, amd seemed to be trying to cover up some other smells. One bedroom definitely smelled like urine. The pictures in the ad were obviously take a while ago. The couch and ottoman are completely beat up and couch even has holes in it. There are no blinds or curtains on the front windows or front all-glass door, which is really weird at night. The patio/deck furniture from the pics and hammock that is mentioned do not exist. The hot tub was below level and had a weird green tinge to it. I would have rated it lower but the host did agree to a partial refund, however he was rude and condesending in his messages.
We took a 5 day trip out to blue ridge, and absolutely loved our stay. We were less than 10 minutes from downtown and close to most places we visited (besides hiking) Communication with the owners was very easy. However the cabin was not very clean. Towels had hair in them and smelled like mildew. Our sheets were also stained/not clean. I would stay here again if the place was a bit cleaner. Overall location and amenities were our biggest priority and this place checked that box for us!
Relaxing trip to the North Georgia mountains! We went on a scenic Blue Ridge train ride, ate delicious local food, hiked up to the Amicalola Waterfall, bought some pumpkins from Burtâs pumpkin patch, and had a wonder time picking apples at Mercier Orchards.
The cabin was very clean and so convenient to all of the shopping and activities we wanted to do. The check in process was super easy and the owner was very responsive.
The location felt very private but it was close to downtown. The description and photos are accurate. The place was well maintained. There was a big rain storm, trees were knocked down around town but we felt very safe. The power went out for moments but I knew the property manager would be responsive if necessary.
My wife and I were looking for a quiet place to get away from daily distractions and relax. This was perfect for us and we are already talking about when we can revisit it and stay longer.
We were three sisters getting together! I had visions of rocking chairs and swings -they were provided -but weather was cold! Not blaming cottage for weather, we were toasty warm inside. We had some trouble with driveway, but it got better as wind and sunny days dried it out. Everything we need was provided, even help when couldn't figure out door.
