Great location to walk to salmon creek & dunes beach
We love salmon creek neighborhood! Windy beaches great for flying kites and building with driftwood. This place was super cute decorated inside and out. All the properties here are a bit old fashioned - like little fisherman cottages. This one seems a bit better decorated than others and has a more updated exterior that is really cute. Adorable small backyard space. Weekend summer price seemed a bit high for such old places. Easy walk down the hill to the beach. They would benefit from new kitchen chairs (worried we would break them each time we used them). Kitchen had all we need to cook. Bring your own oils and basics because the only tiny market in Bodega Bay is cute but very pricey.
We were pleasantly surprised how the home was very cozy and warm especially with its proximity to the beach. The view of the coast was wonderful. It was just right for the four of us and a 3 year old . It was very nice to have a fenced in yard. Some minor things that would improve this wonderful home. Some ants were an issue in the kitchen. Cheese grater would be great for pasta dinners. The coffee maker filter wasnât cleaned in a few weeks so it was a biology experiment .
We have stayed here several times and love this place and its location. . However, it wasnât as clean as it has been in the past and we found ants in the master bedroom so Iâd assume the blanket or comforter had something from a former stay on it.
The house was a lovely beach house, great location. We enjoyed our stay. Perfect for a small family. Fun loft bed for kids.
We needed drinking glasses, there was mostly wine glasses and two tall glasses. Would recommend a real curtain above the master bed as it was very bright without one. The two dining chairs were very uncomfortable.
It is a very cute, sunny and bright cottage. Lots of windows and light. The kitchen is well organized and nicely stocked. Loved the plates! The gas burning fireplace was wonderful and necessary as the fog rolled in with the wind. Walk to the bay and ocean. Artists up the hill worth visiting.
However, the cleaning should have been way better. The shower Mattâs were black with mold and underneath, awful mold. Couldnât take a shower. Gross. Upon leaving I dropped an earring under the dresser, and discovered amongst the debris of dirt a large red capsule just waiting for a toddler to discover and âŠ.? Not good.
Very comfy bed and linens and quilts. Loved sitting out on patio for breakfast into the afternoon. Very nice place, but below cleaning standards. And please replace the filthy entrance rug!
Great property with beautiful views and super easy access to the beach. Other than a first night visit by the local racoons to the garbage can (a rock on the lid stopped any other visits) it was great. We would definitely go back again
Poor communication, gas fireplace inoperable, not clean dishes
The gas fireplace did not work and had a sign posted on it. Given that the listing features the fireplace in more than one place (including the pictures), I think it should have been working or we should have been notified that it was not working (or received a reduced rate). Certainly, at minimum, the listing should be corrected for future guests. Also, the place was not very clean (including dishes in the cupboard that were not well washed).
The location was excellent, ocean views were beautiful, and easy drive to restaurants. The trash cans outside need to be secure from wildlife, had to pick up trash scattered by raccoons. Used wood to keep lid closed and secure. Windows need cleaning inside and out, noticeable with the spectacular view. The propane fire place in the living room was unusable due to the gas smell through the house. If the these things are fixed we would book here again.
Cute, quant little cottage centrally located along the coast in Bodega Bay. Good walk to the beach - for the young at heart - place is extremely clean & well taken care of. Is also very quiet - don't hear a sound from the neighbors!
We enjoyed our stay. It is a 2 bedroom (both with queen beds) with a loft that has a double bed but only one bathroom. Having only one bathroom got tRicky but wouldnât stop us from staying here again.
The only issues we had was the opening and closing of the front door. It looks like it is the original lock of the door so opening and closing got challenging. Also, we usually stay in homes for vacation so we can cook our meals. There were pots and pans provided but it looked like they were pretty run down and limited. It was hard to cook for a family with limited pots and pans.
Other than that, it was pretty awesome. Thereâs a view of the water. Itâs not ocean front but there is an ocean view. On the good days there were plenty of natural light with all the windows facing west. You could walk to the beach but we drove to the parking lot since we had quite a few things to haul to the beach. It was overcast but still very warm. Boogie boards are located on site but ocean water was too cold.
We came in June. Days were mostly overcast and windy but the cottage stayed warm from a small heater located in the kitchen. Washer and dryer are in the home which made it convenient since we had a spill in the car and had to wash a few things. Games and puzzles made a good family night.
Overall, we would come back here to stay. Great place for a little family getaway.
