Confortable with beautiful view

This hillside house is tiered, which we found very pleasant, with the feeling of being isolated enough to fully enjoy the very pretty view over the bay. Very spacious too. The owner is extremely professional and very friendly. The person on site was very helpful.

NOTE: Entrance to the villa has a steep hill so may not be suited to those with mobility issues.

Roger was very responsive. The house was comfortable and clean with great views from the decks and pool. The location was close to numerous beaches, and while walkable, a car is very helpful to have. There are lots of stairs and a very steep driveway.

The complimentary airport transfers provided made for a stress-free start to our holiday. We found that the house had so much space and it’s clearly well maintained, modern, plus spotlessly clean. The pool and deck are just outstanding with stunning views over the Caribbean; sunsets over Monserat were an unbelievable bonus. The peaceful location is perfect for the splendid nearby beaches. You can walk to the large supermarket in Jolly harbour where there are a few shops and a good choice of evening restaurants.We are regular long-haul travellers, but without doubt this is the finest vacation property we have experienced anywhere. Recommended without hesitation !

The property was amazing, with views to die for. Immaculately clean and comfortable. The infinity swimming pool had the most amazing views over the ocean and jolly harbour. Roger the property owner had given every thought that went in to his information guide, from how to use everything in the house, and places to go, good choice of beaches to visit and what they have to offer, places to dine and so much more. Thankyou Roger for sharing your beautiful home with us we will take away so many special memories that we will be talking about for years to come.

Wonderful Stay with Spectacular Views

We had a fantastic time staying at Cactus. The house was beautiful, clean, and very comfortable, with absolutely spectacular views that we never got tired of. It was the perfect place to relax.Roger was extremely responsive and helpful from start to finish, making the whole process smooth and easy. Hazel was also friendly and welcoming during our stay, and Lava’s transportation to and from the airport worked perfectly.Everything about the experience was seamless. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful, scenic getaway.

The view from the pool is one of my favorites in the world and I travel quite a bit. Everything was absolutely perfect. Hazel made sure we had everything we needed at all times. Amazing view!!

We enjoyed our stay at Cactus house. We took the owner’s recommendation to use the taxi driver paid for as part of our stay and rented a car from Sunny’s Rentals. The vehicle was at the house once we arrived. Hazel checked us in and gave us a tour of the home. The infinity pool and view from the property is amazing. We spent most of our time on the second floor balcony while we were at the home. Communication with the owner and Hazel was always immediate and clear. It’s very close to Jolly Harbor and beautiful beaches such as Darkwood and Ffryers. I would highly recommend this property.

Just fantastic!

Don’t even think twice about booking this place
 just do it! Best rental we’ve ever had! The views, the property, the location the hospitality from Ms Hazel and Lava. The house has plenty of room (4 large clean bedrooms bathrooms) with massive living area and an incredible outdoor space. Plus everything you need to make yourself comfortable is right there. We didn’t want to leave and we can honestly say that we’ll be back. Thank you Roger and crew.

Our recent stay at Cactus House was nothing short of extraordinary. The villa itself is a clean, well furnished property that is well designed and comfortable. The spacious rooms were nicely furnished, creating an atmosphere of comfort and ease. The private pool, shimmering under the warm sun, was the perfect place to unwind and soak up the view and surroundings. Special shout out to Hazel (property manager), Lava (driver) and Iris (car rental) who were exceptional. Their warm hospitality and attentiveness made me feel like a cherished guest, not just to the villa but to Antigua. They were always ready to assist with anything, from arranging private tours to responding to WhatsApp messages. Beyond the amenities, what truly made my stay special was the sense of peace and privacy that Cactus offers. It was the ideal escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, a place where I could truly relax and recharge. I would wholeheartedly recommend Cactus House, Jolly Harbour and Antigua to anyone seeking a truly memorable getaway. It is a hidden gem that will leave you longing for a return visit. Couple of things for consideration: 1. There is quite a steep climb up to the villa. With heavy suitcases, this is a challenge (up and down). 2. All bedrooms have AC but the lounge and kitchen, which are upstairs, do not. Heat rises and it can get uncomfortably warm there. Fans helped a little. Enjoy!

Family vacation

We have stayed at many different houses throughout the Caribbean and the Cactus house has been the most well organized place we have stayed. Big Lava will pick you up and drop you off at the airport. Hazel was waiting at the house to show us around and to give us her contact info if any questions arose. Iris will have a rental car delivered to the property and we didn’t even have to return it when we were done they came and picked it up. Tracey across the street at Big head lobster prepared us incredible meals. Overall we felt very safe and had an amazing vacation. Lance

Amazing views and location

We had a wonderful time at Cactus house. The home was larger than we needed for our family of four, but we loved the photos and the location so we splurged. We were so glad we did. The views were amazing and we miss them already. The location is perfect and very close to many beautiful beaches. Literally a few minute drive away. Grocery store is just as close. The pool was refreshing after a warm day exploring the island. The bedroom ACs blew cold and we slept comfortably at night. House was fully stocked for our comfort. Roger and Hazel were a pleasure to work with. Overall I would highly recommend staying at cactus house. You will not be disappointed. Other things we recommend, get a Jeep, take the Jabberwocky private sailing day trip, go to Shirley heights for the bbq dinner and Carribean music. Hope to be back soon and would definitely stay at cactus house again.

Nice Stay

You will not be disappointed at Cactus House. Other reviews have mentioned the positives and I would agree with them all but I do want to emphasize how gorgeous the view is. Jolly Harbour is wonderful to watch from the pool area or the outdoor dining area. To attain that view however, the property does have to be situated high above the harbour leading to a steep driveway. It is hard to describe how steep it is but trust me, you will get used to it and do not let it discourage you from walking down to the water. Another fun fact that coffee drinkers will want to take note of- you will not find cream for your coffee at any restaurant/coffee shop- only milk. Creamer is available at the supermarket however. Overall I would highly recommend starting at this property when visiting Antigua.

We had an amazing time at The Cactus house. The view was amazing. The house was perfect. Only two things were not 5 star worthy. The barking dog next door and the steepness and roughness of the driveway. Otherwise we would highly recommend this house😊

Jolly Harbour Paradise

Our family recently stayed at Cactus House; this was our second time enjoying this beautiful home. We were once again very impressed with the accommodations. The rooms were spacious and well-maintained, and the property owner, Roger, Property Manager, Hazel, and driver, Lava were incredibly friendly and helpful. The outdoor pool is a fantastic area to relax and enjoy the beautiful views of Jolly Harbour and Caribbean Sea, and to soak up the sun. There are several local restaurants within walking distance, they are a great place to get delicious meals with spectacular views. One of the best parts was the amazing views of the sea from the upper terrace. Overall, Cactus House Paradise was the perfect place to relax and enjoy the beauty of the beautiful island of Antigua. Highly recommend! Trip Highlights: Our youngest daughter got engaged, we had a gender reveal from our oldest daughter & son-in-law, and my husband and I celebrated 30 years of marriage. Favorite Restaurants: Basilico, Al Porto, and Sea Dream Favorite Drinks: Pop up Beach Bar - Daisy makes the best drinks! Rental Car: Sunny Rentals - Iris (they will deliver directly to Cactus House). Fantastic Villa

Cactus House is a wonderfully appointed, spacious villa, ideal for large parties. The situation is perfect. – perched on the hillside above Jolly Harbour it has spectacular views from the pool and terrace areas, day or night. However, these views come at a price as the climb up to the villa is very steep and can be difficult to negotiate in wet weather, at night or with bags of shopping. The supermarket at Jolly Harbour is within walking distance, but we quickly decided that a hire car was infinitely preferable to carrying shopping back up the hill. There are numerous bars and restaurants in the area and we tried most of them! The best one we found was Sheer Rocks which is located at the Coco Bay Resort, about a mile and a half from the villa. Overall we had a fabulously relaxing time at Cactus House and would highly recommend it to anyone. We would also like to thank Hazel and Lava for making us feel so welcome and at home. Hope to return soon.

What a gorgeous place with a marvelous pool and view. Two couples and my mother in law enjoyed the house. Views out of this world and a great location close to multiple beaches, dining options etc. Not to be missed!

Cactus House - Beautiful Views

Lovely 12 nights at Cactus House. Lava the driver was there to meet us from the airport and waited whilst we got provisions at local supermarket. He also put us in contact with Andy who arranged excursions for us. There were issues with the internet during our stay but Hazel the housekeeper contacted the provider FLOW to make sure it was sorted asap. Both Hazel and Lava were very helpful during our stay. The villa has beautiful views over Jolly Beach and is very spacious. Would recommend a car as after a long day at the beach it’s quite a climb up hill. Would stay at Cactus House if we visited Antigua again.

Cactus House is a Gem!

My family, friends and I (8) stayed at the Cactus House May 5-12, 2023. (Off-season, fewer crowds which was nice, but also, lobster was out of season, which was a bummer). When we were researching places to stay in Antigua, Cactus House caught our attention right away! We researched further, and found that all the reviews were great and ultimately reserved. Roger was great to work with always responded quickly to any questions that I had prior to our arrival. Upon our arrival, we were met by Hazel and Dionne, who gave us a tour of the house and provided all the ins and outs of the property. It was comforting to know that Hazel was also available for any questions or concerns we had throughout our visit. We found the house to be very spacious, clean and well-equipped with everything we needed. Starter packs of TP, juice, water, hand soap, etc were much appreciated. We had read about mosquitoes, but found very few. Driveway/steps to house are very steep, but our group was able to navigate them and it provided a nice workout when returning with groceries! We especially enjoyed our mornings and evenings on the deck. Location is within walking distance to a few restaurants and beaches. In addition, a well-stocked grocery store in Jolly Harbor, with a liquor store onsite. We chose not to rent a car, and were very happy with that decision once we arrived to the island! We utilized Lava’s transport services to travel to distant locations and the grocery store. If it wasn’t for Lava, we would not have been able to experience as much as we did. So thankful for his kindness, professionalism and knowledge! He was absolutely wonderful and we can’t speak more highly of him! He is a treasure! If you’re looking for a wonderful family-friendly property with breathtaking views, beautiful pool, and proximity to stunning beaches and delicious food, look no further than the Cactus House! You won’t be disappointed! We would love to return!

Group of 8 friends had a wonderful time at Cactus House. Prior to arrival, communication with Roger was great who provided detailed information about the house and local area. The pool area was perfect for sunbathing and enjoying the view over Jolly Harbour bay. The house is within walking distance of a number of restaurants, bars, a supermarket, and beaches. We particularly enjoyed Jolly Beach and the Pop-Up Beach Bar. Hazel was on hand throughout our stay to answer any questions we had and Lava was always on hand to take us to various trips about the island. Antigua is a beautiful island and I would fully recommend Cactus House to anybody looking for a spacious, well equipped villa.

Hidden Gem with an Amazing View

House is a hidden gem in beautiful location. The team at Cactus House were a pleasure to work with, so wonderful and incredibly hospitable from confirmation of our booking to arrival. House has everything you could possibility need for holiday with family. Stunning infinity pool overlooking turquoise water, outdoor balcony where we ate during the majority of our stay, BBQ and small outdoor area for children to play. Property is just a short stroll to many amazing Restaurant/Bars, including Grocery Store if you should need supplies and Jolly Harbor Beach. We were provided a list of recommendations from Roger after booking which assisted us in having an amazing holiday! We had lunch at Sheer Rocks, day at Ffryes Beach and Dinner at Al Porto. All we highly recommend. Had a spectacular time at Shirley Heights but suggest getting there earlier than 4pm to grab a rum punch and secure a spot to view the amazing sunset as it was very busy Sunday. AMENITIES We were greeted upon arrival to a clean home with beach towels, each bedroom/bath had linens, towels, bottled water and toilet paper. Kitchen fully equipped with pots/pans, cutting boards, cups, utensils, toasters, coffee pot, and so much more. Wi-fi available throughout the home without issue. Washer/Dryer. HOUSE Bedrooms on 2nd level, 2 with pool/water views. All bedrooms have a nicely updated bath. Half bath by pool. Upstairs 3rd level is open and inviting with vaulted ceiling, living room, kitchen, and several doors opening to the outdoors. Loved the layout and enjoyed every minute on the balcony. Tile everywhere which makes it easy to keep clean. Felt very safe with or without locking gated front entry. TRANSPORTATION We were able to organize transportation with Lava during our stay. Easy to schedule via WhatsApp. Took us everywhere we requested including Shirley Heights. Always arrived early and always available. Highly recommend instead of renting a vehicle but note it is a little pricey. Would absolutely recommend Cactus House and stay again.

Beautiful view on Jolly Harbor

Great location in Jolly Harbor area on a hill with great ocean views. It's really close proximity to several great beaches and has a nice kitchen an outdoor dining area for eating and relaxing in the evening. I would definitely recommend for those looking for a nice relaxing home rental in Antigua.
