Disappointing hotel

Pros: Location
Cons: Rooms need to be refreshed and equipped much better.
Location: Well located for the airport and city centre. Lots of local restaurants and supermarkets.
The hotel was well located for the airport and walking into the city centre. However, the room was stuck in a 1970's time warp and had no equipment to use in the kitchen, such as cups.... the staff were quite slow on the up take, for example, we asked to book a taxi one evening and when we went to the entrance, there was nothing there. We went back to the hotel reception and she looked sheepish and said a car would be available in 6 minutes. The following evening, we called reception with the same request and we were told that you could only book a taxi by going to reception when you were ready to depart. The cleaners didn't leave any toilet roll when they cleaned our room so we had to call to ask for this. Overall, quite disappointing.

Good following room upgrade

Pros: Serious retro vibe, good location. Via Saffi is an interesting neighbourhood. Look out for the transvestite scene which seems to be thriving here.
Cons: Make sure you get a decent sized room. This hotel has a certain charm, and you need to enter the spirit of it. Don't forget your flares.
Location: Cheap supermarket nearby. Bus tickets can be purchased from Carlino's news agent and he's very friendly. Fresh fruit and veg from nearby Shop.
We were drawn to this hotel for the retro (late 60s?) incredible interiors. We were not disappointed, and the wooden veneer, fitted wardrobes, side tables and light fittings did not disappoint. Returning to our room after a wonderful evening, however, we were stunned to find the room stinking of cigarette smoke. we had left the air conditioning on and it seemed to be emanating from the ancient air con unit. Reception were very helpful and immediately showed us an upgraded room on first floor (rather than 6th). This had even better features; cream leather sofa, a bar area complete with gold and cream leather bar stools, with large fridge and was a much better size. After 4 days I'm not sure how we'd have managed the smaller room. In all a great location with pleasant walk through porticos to centre, or bus stop a few mins walk. Very pleasant staff. If you have a good sized room and like the vintage vibe you will enjoy role playing Bond movie scenes in this amazing hotel.

Not so Elite in August

The Cafe and bar were closed during Aug as was tge laundry! Though this practice is not uncommon and occured in other hotels as many service industries take vacations. The hotel breakfast is ok, but too reliant upon pastries. Rooms and service good, cleaning excellent. 10 euros for ten hours wi-fi, available in room and can be logged in and out, was cheaper than other hotels. It's a good twenty minute walk into town or a 10 -14 euro, taxi ride. But all done very goog value!

The rooms had a very loud buzzer sound when using the electronic lock, meaning that every time someone in the floor opened their hotel room door, the sound bothered all the other rooms nearby. Not for light sleepers! The hotel marketed the possibility of having the service for laundry and ironing (both online and on the info sheets in the hotel rooms!). When I went to the reception to ask for it, they said it is not available at all, as it is an outside service they don't provide. No interest on my matter. I always consider to have this option when choosing my hotel, so it was very disappointing. In general the hotel was big and old fashioned, and the room was clean and spacious. Location not the best possible if you want to reach the historical centre on foot (2,5km).

Vanha kulshtanut likainen hotelli liian kaukana ydinkeskustasta. Huone tunkkainen, haiseva, pölyinen, ilmastointi meluisa, aamiaishuoneen pöytiä ei siistty, aamupala keskinkertainen, mieshenkilökunta epäystävällistä.
