The stay was nice. We really liked the cabin. The only problem we had was when we got there we found that someone had taken a crap in the master bathroom toilet and left it without flushing so therefore we felt that everything had not been cleaned. We were unable to use that bathroom. Also found a dried-up contact lens on the nightstand beside the bed.
Me and my family just got back from a 4 night stay at Mill Ridge Magic. It was awesome. From the peaceful location to the upgraded kitchen and bathrooms we had a great time.
We really like the house. Small but at the same time it felt big enough for our family. The house is nice it just needs a little more attention on to keep it clean. But other than that we like it.
Trash was left in trash cans.house hadnt been clean in a while. Drive way to house was not upkept and rough and tight. There were no curtins in thw whole house. Felt very exposed
Great location convenient to Boone and area attractions. We were able to quickly get to local trails. Relaxing location with deck; it was just one family but could have easily hosted two. Has a cozy fireplace and sitting area. Bathrooms look new and are spacious.
Enjoyed lunch at the billiards hall nearby too and driving by the horses!
Cute little cabin⊠but if you plan to go in the summer, donât. We booked the cabin and didnât realize it doesnât have AC. No fault of the owners. It listed it in the description but we totally overlooked it. The cabin was very clean, organized, plenty of room, nice views. Wi-Fi was hot or miss. But honestly, that was not our priority on the trip.
The cabin was cute...loved the deck.
Not very clean (dust, cobwebs, hair in shower, floor, dirty bath mats, dirty dishes in dishwasher, leftover trash on floor in master bath), heaters in 2 bedrooms did not work, fireplace would not come on. Our children were cold. In my opinion need blinds or curtains for privacy.
We were placed to Mill Ridge Magic property after our original rental was not clean before our arrival. Our original rental â Briarcliff J47â was trashed and smell horrible đ€ąđ€ź. We almost threw up after finding the place dirty and Vacasa didnât notified us about this before getting there. We requested to be relocated we got Mill Ridge Magic property, the cabin is big and very clean. Unfortunately, it took us 2 two hours to find the place because there were no driving instructions and the GPS took us to another route. Also, I suggest to put check-out instructions and instructions on how to use the outdated heaters.

Rat infested
Beautiful home - itâs a shame it was infested with rats - rat droppings were everywhere- in kitchen cabinets, counters, on dishes in the cabinets, on bedding, in bathroom, etc. we reported the problem and provided pictures and so far nothing has been done. The rat droppings also proved that the home had not been cleaned properly if at all. We were not even able to use 2 of the bedrooms due to the droppings being on the bedding & obviously feeling uncomfortable to use that space. We have asked for refund. Very disappointed.

Good and Not so good
The home itself was nice. Attention to detailed cleaning for a home intended for guests would have gone a long way. Other guests have complained about cleanliness and bugs. It's in the woods, there will be some bugs but that wasn't an issue for us. The only cleanliness issues were the amount of cobwebs hanging from the ceiling and in the lamp shades that clearly have not been cleaned in a VERY long time. I had to clean the Keruig before using it; coffee was caked inside where the pod goes.
I will preface the real issue with saying it did not occur to me that I would have to verify the property having air conditioning of some sort in NC. There was a thermostat that had a cool setting so we thought we were missing something with getting it to turn on. It was 80 degrees in the home during the day. I sent a couple messages and it took a day to get a response each time. By the time they informed us there in fact was no air conditioning in the home, it was the night before we left. Suggestion... Have window units in the bedrooms or at the bare minimum, box fans in every bedroom, not just one. Side note... leaving all of the windows open at night did finally cool it down during the night. But if you plan to spend time in the home during the day in the summer, BRING FANS. I know it's the mountains but it is still the hot and muggy south. Also, there are zero window coverings. Drapes would at least help with the sun heating the home up and provide some privacy
