Rustic studio with bay view, perfect for a weekend getaway. Accurate listing. Cabin is in the woods so has tree shade and expected woodland critters (birds, deer, bugs). Looks like one of the Sprucewold cabins of the 1920s.
If you are looking for comfort you will not find it here.
The deck/porch which was very large had a lovely view of the water. This was the only amenity we liked about this cabin which is wicked small and majorly outdated!
Good location to access the activities we were interested in. Exterior pictures are not fully representative of the property. Pictures did not show two levels of stairs going up to the property and one of the exterior pictures is actually one of the neighboring cabins, thought it was an exterior of the one we were renting. Should better state not ADA compliant.
This cottage is the perfect location for visiting Boothbay. Very clean, and just right for a couple. We enjoyed the deck view, biking in the area and convenience to town. A real gem.
I spent a rainy weekend at the âChic Studio Cabin in Boothbay Harborâ for a personal meditation retreat, and it was exactly what I needed. Even with the rain, the cabin was warm and cozy thanks to the propane fireplace. I loved soaking in the beautiful claw-foot tub while listening to the rainâit was so relaxing. The views of the water were peaceful, and I really enjoyed watching the nesting ospreys nearby. The space was so comfortable and calming, I didnât want to leave. Iâm already looking forward to coming backârain or shine!
First time in Maine and the cabin at its location made the stay even so much nicer. Watching the sunrise at 5am , relaxing nights on the deck. The cabin was rustic but functional, spacious enough but still gave that cozy felling.
We will be back. Thank you for your hospitality.
We really enjoyed our stay here! The photos donât do justice to the beautiful view from the porch. We spent most of our time at the cottage on the porch, watching the boats come and go. There were ospreys nesting nearby and it was awesome to watch them. The cottage was just enough space for the two of us. We could have used some additional storage â thereâs a closet but there were only a handful of hangers, and it would have been useful to be able to hang up more of our stuff. Lots of storage for toiletries in the bathroom though. The kitchen was small but well appointed. Lovely, quiet area with all the amenities of Boothbay Harbor a short drive away.
We have a nearby cabin so this was a nice option when we had more guests than our cabin comfortably holds for a couple of days. VRBOâs service team was very quick to return a call (10 min.) when I inquired about removing the winter cover on the AC unit.
This is a secluded little cabin quite cozy for 2 people. The waterfront views from the deck were spectacular. Unfortunately the bathroom plumbing was problematic -- both the sink and bath tub were extremely slow to drain. If the bath tub was draining, the sink would not drain. We called the property manager and they sent someone over the next day but couldn't fix it. They had to call in an actual plumber. It is quite mysterious how the cabin could be cleaned without a running sink and nobody had noticed it previously. The bathroom light also could not be switched off; we had to manually unscrew the bulb to turn it off, and that was never fixed during our stay. I think the property itself is quite old and could use a little update or at least a thorough inspection. That said, the deck and surroundings were very enjoyable and made up somewhat for the plubming mishap.
My wife and I went to Boothbay Harbor for our 10 year anniversary and stayed at this house. We were less than a mile from town and only about 1/2 mile to the lobster wharf where we went immediately and had drinks and a lobster roll.
The house had a wonderful deck with a great view of the harbor. It even had a cast iron stove with an automatic light
that gave a great warmth in the evenings. We had a very pleasant stay.
