Good experience near MGH

Needed a few days in between apartments that was walking distance from MGH. Apartment was clean, the check in process was smooth, although the 7-11 for key pick-up was a bit far from the apartment. Otherwise, everything else was adequate. The laundry in the basement behind some trash cans and appears to take coins so make sure you have them.

Great location, great little breakfast spot near by. Kitchenette not meant for more than heating something up, couldn’t even cook an egg. Bed high up; struggled to get up. Overall, for a few days away, fitted our needs. Would rebook.

It was a nice place to stay for my daughter and I after along day out. Apartment is also within walking distance of a lot of tourist attractions which makes it easier to get around. It was clean and had ac. Getting key isn’t that much of an issue, just plan on picking key up before going to apartment. Also, plan ahead for parking as well since there isn’t on site parking at residence. It is perfect for two people. Would stay here again

Location is the reason to stay here. Otherwise I would recommend a hotel, check in process is not great as everyone says. AC did not work for our three night stay. Only got a fan when we asked even though they knew atleast the few hours before we arrived since that’s when I got told so they could have saved us from being drenched in sweat the first night since we are staying the middle of summer and on the 6th floor as we know how heat rises means we took lots of cold showers after exploring the town just to cool off. Management team was frustrated with us even though we get no discount or other accommodations to help resolve a problem they were fully aware of. Ceilings had holes cut out and floors were covered in hair and dirt so walking barefoot isn’t ideal. Happy anniversary to us
Boston was amazing however this rental was the worst of our trip.

A visit to Boston

My wife and I were very pleased with the apartment. It was the perfect size/fit for us, small but very well designed with a well equipped kitchen (full size refrigerator, stove, microwave, dishes, etc.). The bed was comfortable and, most of all, the apartment was very clean. And the location is perfect for taking the subway and easily reaching important tourist areas (wharf, USS Constitution, Liberty Trail, etc.). We highly recommend that you consider staying at this apartment.

Best location in Boston!

My husband and I came to Boston for our first time ever. He picked it for his birthday trip. The city did not disappoint. We couldn't figure out why the hotels were so expensive until we arrived and realized it was college graduation season. We were thankful to find this VRBO and despite the detailed feedback below....we would stay here again because the location was AMAZING and the clean was 'good enough'.....but had the weather been any warmer or colder....this review would be a different story.Enjoy Boston Future travelers.location - 5 starsprice (assuming everything worked) - 5 starscommunication - 4 stars ( would be 5 stars if we didn't have to always initiate communication on the status of the broken mini split and potential discount)clean - 3 stars (there was hair on the ceiling, the bathroom walls need to be cleaned floor to ceiling and ceiling with a magic eraser, the bath tile is moldy, the shower curtain is moldy, the towels were stained)wifi - 0 stars (it's not great at all and for those of us needing to work while traveling it might as well not be there) but since we spent all of our time exploring town we didn't care.air conditioning - 0 stars. (thank goodness we were traveling during a time of year it wasn't too hot or too cold or this would have been a total deal breaker and we would have been very very upset. since the weather was comfortable....it made the stay otherwise tolerable)

Not nice. Superb location though.

Not terribly clean, very odd bed, too small sheets and blanket, no shower soap or shampoo, other peoples clothes in drawers, strange extra mattress, scavenger hunt check in, and unclear check out instructions. Very convenient location.

Terrible check-in

This is a small room next to the MA State Legislature and the Boston commons. The room is clean, and the bed sleeps well. Perfectly functional is all you need is a place to sleep. I would not recommend this place for more than one guest. It's simply too small - and there's only one chair. The kitchen is performative only. Despite there being two hot plates, there is only one small saucepan. So you can make rice, but no beans. And certainly no fried eggs for breakfast. There is also no towel to dry your stuff with after washing it. As others have mentioned, check-in is a disaster for this place. You have to walk downhill to a 7/11 half a mile away to get your key from a small lock box that the cashier of the 7/11 does not know is there (it's on the right of the entrance to the left of the ATM). On top of that, they gave me the wrong code, so I ended up with the wrong key, and had to go back to get the right key with a different code. Dragging my luggage up and down the hill again. There are better solutions for this. Furthermore, whomever runs this place is so busy reminding you of all the rules that even threaten involving the police if you don't leave on time ("only for the bad apples") that they will not welcome you at any time. So, if you just need a bed next to the MA Legislature or Boston Commons, this place is great. Just don't expect to be welcomed.

Perfect location, underwhelming room

Location of the property is great - within walking distance to all major Boston attractions, train lines are super close! Downsides - can hear everything in hallway/room next to you, air conditioning unit would kick off in the night and we woke up sweating, slightly musty & would have appreciated a cleaner unit. All in all, it was fine, but probably wouldn’t stay here again. Pros and cons, depending on what you’re looking for.

The bed was very high off the ground. I could not get into it without dragging the chair over and climbing on that. you would think a simple step stool might have been provided. Every time I had to get down and get up this was quite annoying. Air conditioning was on with 55 degree temperature outside. No blankets were provided even though I was told there should be. It was uncomfortably cold and I could not adjust the temperature. Then I was told that regardless of being so uncomfortable the contract did not allow for refunds. Ehhh :-( Find another place. It's more expensive than a comparable hotel room.

good stay

the check in process was so difficult- we did not get an email or any information about checking in until a few hours before check in. when we went to go pick up the keys the keys were not at the KeyCafe and we had to wait 45 minutes after check in time for someone to bring the keys. once we finally got the keys though the apartment was great! clean and exactly like the listing. there were toiletries and lots of clean towels and pots and pans in the kitchen. the location was absolutely perfect as well!
