The Family really enjoyed this rental. There was plenty of room for everyone, itâs always nice to have 3 king sized beds, 2 bathrooms, full kitchen and a laundry machine. The back screened in porch was nice and the location is tough to beat, super close to all of the attractions. I would definitely stay here again.
Cute 2 bedroom cabin with an awesome balcony/deck overlooking a lovely creek and the woods. Unit was clean and fully equipped with all the necessities. On the down side, both beds are not very comfortable, but did appreciate how well the hot water worked! Great location with easy parking. I wasn't aware I had to go to the golf course to actually check in. I had to stop and ask another guest where to go. Would have been nice to have known that. A simple text with instructions and that address would've sufficed. Otherwise, we had a great time.
Everything was great here and will definitely be rebooking there in the future! The only thing that I would change is the bed was extremely uncomfortable and the bed linens were rather worn both need upgrades for sure!
Overall the cabin was beautiful but there were some things that werenât as clean as they should be. They also gave poor check in instructions. Went to the address on our booking info and it wasnât were you need to check in.
The photo of the stay is not where you stay!!
They do not tell you that. Each unit is owned by different people so conditions vary. Even though we booked thru Hotels.com, the 1000 Hills property management handles the booking.
It was NOT a one bedroom. It is a Studio meaning that the bed, tub and kitchen are all one room. The photos are taken as to imply it was a separate bedroom.
There is only 1 parking spot for this unit, which was taken twice by someone else as they are not marked. This must be a real problem during peak season.
This unit had very few dishes, pans, etc.
The gas fireplace smelled like it had a leak, we reported it.
The carpeting had stains all over & chipped wall paint. We reported that and 1000 hills rep said these things are up to the owner to take care of. Not their responsibility!
Might be better to pay more at Big Cedar Lodge.
The only positive was the location was central near many attractions.
We arrived to the Clubhouse by Uber and were informed from the Club House check in staff that we needed to WALK to our Cabin- approx 1.5 miles, in the dark, in the street, and with our bags. No one at the hotel offered to shuttle us to the cabin. It would be helpful for customers to know this ahead of time so that the Uber driver can wait. We had NO idea, nor was there any information given to us, that a long hilly walk would be necessary to reach our cabin. Needless to say, my husband was not happy.
The cabin I rented online was NOT the cabin I received. What was shown with pictures on cabin/room selection was not the one given. Thats not ok. Its false advertising.
We love the cabins at Grand Mountain. The condition of the cabin was a little less than what we have come to expect though. The back door would not lock, the front door deadbolt did not work either. The commode valve has a tendency to stick open, and the carpet was torn. Other than those small issues, we enjoyed our stay.
I've stayed at Big Cedar Lodge and these cabins are equally nice, but a fraction of the cost. I like the fact that they are located near all the attractions and shopping. They are very clean, very well decorated and a very quiet atmosphere. My family will definitely be coming back.
