It was ok. We arrived and I’m sure we weren’t expected. Checked in by someone who was clearly enjoying his evening if you know what I mean 🍹 😉. He asked why I was carrying 2 bags and my husband 1!! Absolutely NONE of his business, I was quite happy. Room was cold, eventually worked out how to turn rad on. No sweetners for tea. When we came home at night we were met by a very angry barking dog, made us jump. Pillows were good. Breakfast excellent but I’ve stayed a lot of places and I didn’t feel welcome. Like we were a chore. My husband forgot his watch here, we were too far gone to go back and get it, so asked for it to be sent back to us. £2.69!!!! They charged our credit card!!! Now if I wanted to offer 5* customer service just send me it back , don’t charge me ! £10 yes, not £2.69. For that reason I will never return

Thank you for your feedback. We are confused as you complain about our warm welcome (for the record, our owners and staff do not drink on duty, you clearly have a mistaken impression) yet say you didn't feel welcome. We have never been asked to provide sweeteners in our amenity trays but would have happily provided had you asked instead of complaining in a review after you've left!l The majority of our guests are keen to interact with our dog - if we weren't 100% confident that he is calm and good natured we would not allow him in communal areas. You stated by email you would cover the cost of posting the watch, which we highlighted we sent by signed for delivery - we can provide the receipt - this is no different from standard hospitality industry practice.

This is a beautiful place to stay, clean friendly staff, and the breakfast was beautiful. Highly recommend
