The back bedroom bathroom started smelling really bad yesterday. We had to move rooms it was such a strong sulfur smell. There are alive & dead bed bugs on the ceiling and floor. There is a yellow stain on the upstairs bedding on one of the beds.

Nicely furnished, but dirty enough I had to check all the sheets. Hair and piles of dust on every step of the stairs, glass globes on the stairs were so dusty you could write on the surface, thick dust on the nightstands ad back of chaors. Not dst from the road. Parents Getaway

My husband and I stayed with our friends, another couple, for 3 days to vacay without the kids. We had a few issues that we noticed on our first day, most were quickly addressed and were quickly resolved. Others, such as the lighting in the living room and the exhaust fan in the restroom had parts to be ordered so hopefully they are repaired for the future visitors. Considering the heavily treed property, outside was pleasantly clean. Our overall stay stay nice, comfortable and relaxing.

Beautiful cabin!

We had such a nice Easter weekend at this cabin. Incredible views of a neighboring pond. High pine trees. Quiet street! Loved the luxury upgrades and beautiful features in the bathrooms. Definitely a glamping experience.

Great spot!

We booked Modern Pines for a fall break getaway. The listing photos depicted the modern beauty of the rooms and finishes. The appliances were brand new and easy to use. We appreciated the decor, layout, and outdoor living spaces. The nearby restaurants and state park for hiking and horseback riding were close by and held something for everyone’s tastes and preferences. The drawbacks were few but showed some room for improvement. It was very dusty inside, likely due to the lack of rain and dirt road out front. We found two live cockroaches during our stay. The outdoor string lighting was sadly not functioning. The main overhead chandelier was not hard wired and plugged in by an extension chord. These things didn’t takeaway from our stay but could easily be improved to make it a 5-Star experience. Overall we were very happy with our time at Modern Pines and would recommend it to friends and family.

Great getaway

The property was great! Percent for the week. The upstairs area is perfect for kids. The only issue is when the upstairs goes to bed it’s hard to do anything down stairs without waking them because of the echo in the house.

Beautiful and Peaceful

This is a beautiful cabin with amazing views of gorgeous pine trees and a pond. The rooms are spacious, and the patio is incredibly relaxing. There is a huge "party house" across the way from this property that could tend to get loud at times, but we have nothing negative to say about Modern Pines. Everyone in our family had a wonderful stay, and we hope to get back soon! Thank you to the owners for opening up your lovely property for us to enjoy.

Love the Moderness in the Woods

We're very impressed by how clean the cabin was and everything was well maintained. The kitchen was fully stocked and the bedrooms are very clean. The mattresses are of very high quality unlike the ones in some of the cabins we have stayed at before. The fire pit and the swings were all very nice and clean too. Perfect for our kids to enjoy the great outdoors. We also loved the location of the cabin. It's not close to the main entrance or the main road so we could have more privacy. We could see the other cabins next to us but there were trees between the properties. So the location is definitely something we enjoyed. The only issue we encountered during our stay was that the cleaners forgot to do one load of the laundry with the extra blankets and the dryer didn't work properly when we tried to clean them ourselves. We should've contacted the manager right away but we didn't think to do that. Other than that we're very satisfied with everything the cabin had to offer! We have already recommended it to a few friends and some have already booked it right away.
