Very basic accommodations, you bathroom, dated fixtures, but what do you expect from National Park lodging? We were pleasantly surprised. Very clean, quiet, good AC, good mattress, everything we needed for one night. We would definitely stay again.
We were there for a 2 night family trip. The motel was really conveniently located right near the Visitor Center. I imagine it has not changed much in the past 50 years, aside from upkeep. It has a really cool retro vibe and the rooms are spacious. There are hiking trails all around the property and beautiful views. We loved it and would absolutely stay here again!

We enjoyed the convenience to the National Park. Dining options at the Lodge were limited with very little available for breakfast. The main dining room offered a nice selection and the staff was very friendly and attentive. There were hiking trails close by but signage was very limited and in poor condition.
Had to wait 30 mins to be checked in. Even though we arrived at 5pm. The person working the front desk was nowhere to be found and none of the other 4 people there could/would check us in. The room had paint peeling off the walls and the door had gaps around it so air blew in from outside. Older fixtures and bed wasn’t comfortable. Customer service was nonexistent. But I guess that’s what you get at a state park?
The staff is really friendly, but the cottage we stayed in was in poor condition. Dirty windows, spider webs and dead bugs, dirty floor, everything wa

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
Room was partially updated, beds/linens/towels were nice, lights updated, bathroom partially updated. Shower head was so clogged that it barely functioned. The carpet was so musty/mold smelling and was damp. The Wi-Fi worked well after the second day when they reset the router

This is about as rustic as it gets aside from camping! Cabin was spotless, less the few lady bugs that joined us. There are cracks around the doors, so there’s no true way to keep bugs out. But you cannot beat the location!!! Just steps away from the visitor center. We felt like we were sleeping above the cave. Dining on site was decent, so there’s really no need to leave once there. My family and I had a blast in these tiny cottages! It was nice to break away from TV’s, cell phone service and WiFi for a while! If you don’t mind rustic then definitely give it a try!!
I just loved the family cabins!! Great concept with the bedrooms on each side of the toilet and shower. They are older cabins that have been kept up well. The bed was very comfortable. Would only recommend a towel hanger by each of the sinks in the bedrooms. Only down side was the weather, rain and flooding. Left a day early but plan on a return visit!
We had a wonderful stay in our cabin at Mammoth Cave. It was adequate accommodations for a short weekend at the National Park. The only issue we had was the heater in our cabin. I thought maybe it was just an AC unit, and never said anything to staff. However, upon check-out, I clarified with the desk and it was a heater as well. I’m sure if I had brought it up before checkout someone would have fixed it for us. We just had some chilly mornings! :)
Such a beautiful place to stay in a fun rustic cabin. Already booked another trip

“Glamping” with the Ladybugs
We stayed in one of the historic cottages. It had a particular rustic charm to it with a spacious room, no TV, hard wood floors and a comfy bed. It was quiet and peaceful. It also was the time of year when the bugs are waking up so we had dozens and dozens of ladybugs in our room. If they had been any other bug I would have complained but it was a dark stormy night and the lights on the path to the main lodge were out so we just learned to appreciate each other.

Great location
This is an historic cottage so I wasn't sure how luxurious it would be...it wasn't. However, the bed was comfortable and the room more than adequate. We were a short walk to the Mammoth Cave visitor center so that was perfect.
Wonderful motel-style room at the Lodge at Mammoth Cave. Clean rooms complete with microwave mini fridge and coffeemaker. Walking distance to Mammoth Cave tours and Green River restaurant. Dark at night with birdsong in the morning. Friendly staff. Highly recommended!
