The room was large, bed was comfortable.
The bathroom was clean.
There were a dirty bathrobe and dirty slippers in the wardrobe.

Lost it's Grandness
Not the hotel it once was thought it would of had a more warmer feel, to many ups and downs through the corridors, overall just a OK hotel

Great value hotel, beautiful grounds and building
Pros:beautiful building
Booked last minute for a family party nearby and enjoyed the stay. Efficient and friendly welcome and great to have access to the leisure facilities. Breakfast buffet on the Sunday morning was ok,

Lovely hotel. It was our second stay.
We stayed 2 nights before for our honeymoon in June & we found it lovely & clean, friendly staff & good food... so we came back again for a murder mystery night, which was good. The only drawback was the price of drinks... very expensive.

Visiting family in Brierfield.
The staff are helpful and welcoming. We did not use the leisure facilities and did not have breakfast at the hotel as we used the hotel as a base to visit family in Brierfield. The room was very comfortable and clean.

I'd take the Bates Motel over this any time
Had we been able to get any sleep, this could have been described as a nightmare.
Nice facade, but building was obviously extended by a would-be mountaineer, no lifts, lots of traipsing up and down flights stairs to reach the room.
Room kept at sauna temperature, no thermostat, no controls. We opened the window (nice view of a brick wall outside) to lower the temperature, but this remained at "simmer" all night. This spot was also chosen by hotel staff to chat loudly until 1:30 am, after which this role was taken over by fellow guests until we managed to get the night staff to quieten them at 4:30 am.
We changed rooms the following night, much better despite proximity of function room (Wedding disco), but this time a siren went off three times at around 1:30 am, so not exactly restful.
No, we don't rate this hotel very highly!
