Liked: the comfort of the beds and the individual heaters for the bedrooms.
Did not like:
Prior to arrival we checked with manager there would be enough firewood for the 7 nights.
Arrived on a cold dark and drizzling night to
1 small log of wood placed in centre of fireplace
Empty wood basket
6 matches
no firelighters
small amount of kindling
Had to drive 25mins looking for wood at 7pm at night
finally found some at local gas station, bought wood, matches and fire lighters.
First night spoiled
Oven seal was hanging off, black smoke poured out from the oven when turned on.
Coffee machine but no coffee pods or milk.
No water bottle in fridge.
Rug around the fire burn marks, dirty and full of wood splinters from previous guests. Vacuum cleaner full of dust/dirt it had no suction.
Previous guests rubbish left in the bins outside.
No potato peeler.
Nothing to clean toilets.
Owner arrogantly / unpleasantly suggested if we were unhappy we could leave and be refunded the remainder of our stay but not for our first night.
As if we were going to pack up and start searching for another property !
After many complaints a wood delivery arrived the following day and reimbursement for what we had purchased the night before.
Bottled gas was not turned on
Stove top lighter would not work.
Power kept tripping
NB no aircons in any of the bedrooms (just fans) just one large aircon in the main living area
Such a shame :(
