Room in disarray. Wardrobe leaning into tiny tv. Couldnât open both doors because of this. Kettle did not reach plug. No heating on was freezing until we put it on. Toilet floorboards squeaked every time you walked on them. Arrived informed no food being served until February we were there in January long time to wait. They could have informed us when we booked and they knew we were going. So we could make an informed choice. Noise from down stairs until midnight. Now we know why they gave us earplugs. Cars racing in and out of car park all night. Not the best experience.
The 18th century appearance of this inn evokes old style romanticism. The bar and dining area reflect the same. The food is honest pub fare. The room still smelled fresh from a recent renovation. The room was clean and the super king bed was very comfortable. Definitely worth the visit and keenly priced.
