Owner tried very hard to equip the house well. I appreciated a Nespresso maker and espresso cups. Also graciously left coffee, rum and wine for arrival. Gazebo and lounging pool perfect. Fine gas grill. Very kid friendly. Pool is on ground level and quarters on upper, so young kids can’t really come and go. We liked how authentically Puerto Rican Combate is - very few gringos like us, but it is mostly elaborate campers, which is why 4 stars instead of 5. To get the full sunset, you need to walk to the beach or dine at Annies, where we liked the Grouper bites best.

My husband and I planned a 4 night stay here and left the property within 1/2 hr of being there. We then had to scramble to find accommodations elsewhere. This house was not at all as described!! It is NOT on the beach and there is no ocean view. The house itself was ok, but it is “nestled” in a R/V park. There is no privacy in the back yard and the “new pool” is a dipping pool, about 8’x8’. Not nearly as large as it looks in the photos. Combate beach is NOT “steps away” it’s more like 1/4 of a mile. The neighborhood felt very unsafe. There is a code to get into the main gate/property, a key to get in to the main door, and another key to get into the house, and every bedroom door had a key for it, making us feel like it was not a safe neighborhood. The neighbors RVs all had chain-link fences around them. There were no, bars/restaurants in the neighborhood, and we would not have felt safe, walking around the neighborhood, especially at night.I tried to reach the host several times through phone and messaging, but never heard back until a couple days of arrival. Communication was difficult as we don’t speak the same language. He did not understand my concerns and that his property was not at all as described. He refused to give us any refund at all. Run from this place.

Tiempo de Familia en El Combate

We had three sets of adults and four children in our party and the house was a perfect fit for all of us. One room fit our whole family in it since it had bunk beds and a queen size bed! The air conditioners in each room worked very well and kept the house cool while we were there. There is a small view of the ocean from the balcony that we got to enjoy each morning while drinking our coffee and is amazing for sunsets. The small wading pool was fun for our younger children and the walk to the beach and food was one of the best parts of the location of the house. The only issues we had during our four day stay was the water pressure going out the first day and the back up generator not having any gas to work when the power went out on our last day. Highly recommend staying at this beautiful home!

Home was clean , well stocked and perfect location for beaches and getting out and exploring sites. Awesome patio to grill and chill out after a day at the beach or checking out local sites . The pool was a plus for the kids to cool of an evening . My family loved it !

Angel’s home is absolutely beautiful. One of the best vacation rentals we have ever stayed in. Their attention to detail and level of care is evident in every detail. The decor is beautiful and the extra amenities make the stay even more enjoyable. From aloe for sunburns and spray deodorant to board games and a nice stereo system, we were impressed every time we entered a room or opened a cabinet! It truly feels like they have thought of everything. The pool was wonderful, we loved the patio, the bedrooms were perfect, the kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed, the area is fun and safe, and walking distance to the beach. We would not hesitate to stay here again and would absolutely recommend to friends. We did have a difficult time initially finding the place, but Angel was extremely helpful and kind in getting us there. Thank you for sharing your beautiful oasis with us!!

EXCEPTIONAL STAY!!! FIVE STARS!!!

My family and I stayed at this property from April 4th to April 12th and had a wonderful time! We were a group of eight people, seven adults and one child, but the house felt huge, with plenty of space for everyone. It was great that there was central air conditioning throughout the house. Almost every day, my 6-year-old enjoyed the pool and outdoor area. The best part was how close we were to the beach, just a block away. During the week, the neighborhood was quiet and peaceful, but on weekends it was lively. We enjoyed eating at Annies Place, which is just feet from the beach/water and a 5-minute walk from the property. Thank you for hosting us. Rest assured that we will definitely be returning to Cabo Rojo and this gem of a property.
