The bedding was quite terrible â rough and scratchy, almost uncomfortable to sleep on. The beds themselves were very firm, which seems to be common in Egypt.
The hotel overall is cute, with a charming design and a great location directly across from the GEM (Grand Egyptian Museum). However, I wouldnât recommend crossing the street to get there, itâs a major road with fast traffic, so youâll need someone to drive you. The rooftop has a great view of the pyramids, which is definitely a highlight.
The staff was fantastic overall. We didnât try much of the food, but what we did have, we enjoyed. The only downside was the man at the front desk â he was rude and dismissive, which stood out because everyone else was so kind.
They offer airport pickup, but our experience wasnât great. The car that picked us up was old, dirty, had no seatbelts, and smelled strongly of exhaust. The 45-minute ride felt unsafe and unpleasant â not what you want after a long flight. While the website mentions airport transfer, when we requested a ride back to the airport, they tried to charge us $30, even though an Uber costs around $6.
The hotel also advertises âone excursion per dayâ on their Expedia listing, but when asked, the staff said thatâs not something they actually offer. They do arrange excursions, but theyâre priced at high, American-style rates.
Overall, Iâd rate this hotel three stars. Itâs not a four- or five-star experience, but it is a safe, clean place with a wonderful view
