Our stay was great. We love the fact that it was a beach front property with a pool. House was just as described and had everything we needed (well equipped kitchen, grill area, towels, etc). The sunsets by the pool were the best! We definitely are looking forward to our next visit.

The Place, in Paradise!

Everything was great. The beach house was wonderful and had everything you could need or think of. The location was excellent, not front beach, at The Beach 😉. Loved the private pool and the outside deck! The owner was wonderful as far as responding and answering any questions! Would definitely book again in the NEAR future.

Relaxing and Enjoyable Outdoor Space

This property was worth the stay due to the outdoor dining area with hammocks and the pool. You could walk right out to the beach. It is off the beaten path and you are 45 minutes from the closest town. We were a little worried when we were driving into the surrounding area and was glad to see the 24/7security that monitored and patrolled the front and back areas along the beach. The stove top does not work and there were cockroaches. We were able to use the bug spray provided under the sink. If you are looking for something quiet and remote this is the place.

Meets all expectations.

Villa Mer is centrally located to many activities most within a 90 minute drive. Randal the owner is very responsive via What'sApp and the grounds keeper does his job without interfering with the guests enjoyment of the property. The pool man Alexander was beyond helpful even changing a tire for us when we discovered a flat. Having a washer onsite was good and hanging the clothes on the clothes lines was quite sufficient for drying, though for the off season a dryer would be needed.The pool is a good size for swimming and just relaxing and with the beach right there you can go for a walk and watch the sunset or watch it from the upper deck. The kitchen is well applianced and there are multi-lingual instruction books available for each appliance. There is plenty of hot water for showers and the kitchen cleanup.I would stay at Villa Mer again in a heartbeat and wish I could have booked it for 2 weeks, but I have only so much time off from work. Guess there is next year.

No Hot Water

BUYER BEWARE No hot water and beach is dirty. I contacted Vacasa before confirming reservation to verify had hot water due to previous review. I was told I would have hot water but never did. The pool water was warmer than the shower. The company was notified as soon as we knew there was no hot water. Beach is very dirty due to ships waiting to get into port and dumping garbage while waiting. We did see monkeys and birds which were beautiful. Sorry for the bad review I tried to work with you.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at a beachfront house VILLA MER that exceeded all expectations. This remarkable property not only offered stunning views of the ocean but also immersed us in a natural paradise, complete with swaying palm trees, colorful macaws soaring through the skies, and playful monkeys and raccoons in the surrounding trees. The house itself was a haven of comfort and convenience. The fully equipped kitchen allowed us to prepare delicious meals with ease, while the comfortable beds ensured a restful night's sleep after a day of exploration. The presence of amenities such as reliable Wi-Fi, access to Netflix, and hot water further enhanced our stay, providing entertainment and comfort at our fingertips. What truly made this experience exceptional was the opportunity to connect with nature. The sight of guacamayas gracefully flying overhead and raccoons added a touch of magic to our days. It was a joy to witness these incredible creatures in their natural habitat, creating unforgettable memories for both my children and our beloved pets. The beachfront location was simply breathtaking. We spent countless hours building sandcastles, taking long walks along the shore, and basking in the beauty of the ocean. The tranquility and serenity of the surroundings allowed us to unwind and truly appreciate the wonders of nature. I cannot recommend this beachfront house enough. It seamlessly combines the comforts of a well-equipped home with the awe-inspiring beauty of its natural surroundings. Whether you're seeking a memorable family vacation or a peaceful retreat with your pets, this property offers an unforgettable experience. We left with hearts full of cherished memories and a longing to return to this idyllic haven by the sea.

Awesome spot on the beach

We had an amazing stay at Villa Mer and will definitely return. The location is awesome. We spent almost all of our time at the pool, as the rancho right next to it provides shade and a great eating area. We ate all of our meals there and played cards every night, all while listening to the surf crash only metres away. The reason I gave only 4 stars is because there are some things that need to be addressed to justify the price. 1.There is no hot water. Not a big deal, but this should be stated as we were expecting it. 2.The ants in the kitchen can be brutal. On our first day, the kitchen counter was swarmed with thousands of ants because we ate before we cleaned up. I found a can of Raid in the laundry and sprayed the 3 main entry points near the counters. This needs to be done at least once a week, and you can't leave any food out - ever. 3. The dishwasher doesn't clean the dishes. I don't like doing dishes while on vacation. It needs to be replaced. 4. Need a plug for the kitchen sink so you can fill it with boiled water to wash dishes. 5. No real oven, just small toaster oven. 6. Needs gas BBQ. 7. Showers in the main baths make a mess. In the house, water runs into the bedroom. Separate indoor shower by pool must be used. 8. Need more than 1 spatula and need scissors, salad tongs, measuring cups/spoons. 9, Sliding door locks are difficult to operate. 10. Should have some information about the area and the property in a binder to help with orientation when guests arrive.

PACIFICO Y APACIBLE

El lugar ideal para descansar y relajarse totalmente. La villa está súper equipada, limpia y agradable. Tiene variedad de ambientes para disfrutar, especialmente el BBQ y piscina frente al mar son muy agradables y enriquecen el espíritu!! Todo maravilloso. Lo recomiendo 100%.

Amazing house

We went on a friends trip and the house was really wonderful, we were surrounded by nature the whole trip, we were able to see a lot of the National birds in Costa Rica. The best thing of the house was the proximity of the beach, it’s just in front of the house. We truly enjoyed a peaceful and graceful visit, we hope to come back soon! Thank you!
