Cancun Bay was sold as a resort. Not a chance! As a hotel, which is what the wrist band says, it's fine. There's not much to do. The food is flat out bad. The restaurants are underwhelming if you even get a reservation at one. This is not where you go to spend your whole trip without leaving (unless you want to starve or die of boredom). It's just a hotel. A safe place to lay your head. The staff is nice, but there aren't enough. No premium liquor is even available, let alone included. Stay at a hotel near a mall for cheaper. We had to go to La Isla mujeres and restaurants in town in order to save our vacation. If you don't have $2k USD to add to your trip, maybe you don't stay here...

My family came here for about a week and everything was amazing from the moment we checked in to when we checked out. Staff was nice and helpful, the rooms were kept nice and clean, it was just a great time overall.

Our flight being cancelled due to mechanical issues, out of our control. The hotel would not refund us the hotel cost. Be careful of this hotel. Services were not used and I was charged for the whole cost of the hotel stay. Expedia will not let me post this review.

This is a very dated facility. Room smelled of sewer gas at times, food selections were very poor, staff worked hard and were excellent, but overall, for an all inclusive resort this place is small and below par. We will not be staying there again.

It was our first trip to Mexico, and we were on a budget, this place certainly fit the bill. I am so grateful to the staff for their excellent service! They were cheerful, energetic, and very helpful. While we did have a minor issue with our first room assignment, they immediately offered to move us to another, ensuring it was clean. Housekeeping was excellent, our room was tidied daily, and drinks were replenished. Although their standard rooms could use some improvement—for instance, the bathrooms only have curtains instead of doors for privacy, and the toilet sometimes required time to flush. Maybe their other rooms are better. The buffet was always well-stocked, with some dishes changing daily. The pools and drinks were readily accessible. While reservations for their other restaurants required waking up early to make reservations by 8:30 AM, this wasn't a problem for us, as we enjoy waking up early on vacation. Overall, the price we paid for our stay was reasonable.

Overall the hotel was good, me and my friends had a great time but they only had bottom shelf liquor and the cleanliness wasn’t amazing, but the staff made the trip for us especially Jordan and Alex the bartenders they looked after us day and night and really made the trip great!

Very boring property; clean & in a convenient location in the hotel zone but very BORING. I can not stress this enough. Not enough entertainment at all. A lot of older people there! Lights were off in the lobby and quiet before midnight . The suites were spacious but could use upgrades. Three bathrooms were appreciated. We also had a small balcony. Fridges were stocked daily. Martha also took my 20 dollars to send me to a Wyndham timeshare presentation to get a “discount on a excursion” and because we didn’t go we didn’t get our 20 back for our “sunset cruise”. The dining options were limited and terrible for breakfast and dinner . No live chef to even get a omelette in the morning. We didn’t even bother checking for lunch. We paid for an all inclusive and ended up just buying food outside daily . The drinks at the bar were okay. Nothing special . Had better. Over all this place get a 2/10. Wouldn’t stay here again but it was a last minute booking and the price was decent and I see why.

Family Vacation

Great stay! Service was good, specialty restaraunts particularly LaVista were great. The buffet was okay, could always find something to eat. We had a Master suite for 6 people and it was very comfortable. The third room with the 2 double beds does not have it's own bathroom and is 2 steps down from the rest of the area which is not clear on the website. Our housekeeper Maja did a great job and Carlos at guest service helped us rent a car to do some sightseeing.

The poolside burgers and fries arec the only good food at this place. There is no variety to the food, and what food is served is not that good. The music was boring and homemade, almost elevator music. The pool is micro-scopic (very small). The first room was also very small, so we had to pay extra for a half-decient room. The staff were all fantastic and knew us by name.

Everyone at Cancun Bay was very friendly, polite and helpful. Leo at the reception area, Rafaela kept our room clean, Anahi and Enrique the waitresses by the pool were on top of keeping us hydrated. Dayana and Dreidis kept us very busy with the games and Zumba. The entertainment was good. I’m definitely coming back! I only wished they had guacamole and chip!!

We absolutely loved our stay here. It was very clean, it was small so we got to know everyone and we felt very safe, and the staff were incredibly friendly. We were upgraded ro an ocean view room on our second day. The food was good, but not a lot of options. One or two restaurants open each night. The beach was more of a marina. I cannot begin to speak positively enough about the staff. They were so kind and patient and loved helping us understand their culture and language. Special shout out to David (server) and Alejandro (Alex - concierge). If we are ever back in Cancun, we would return!
