Beautiful place and wonderful staff

Rooms were nice, fantastic view, AC worked great. Room service was horrible. Very little to choose from, mostly sandwiches that tasted like they came out of a fourth grader's lunchbox. And they would not bring you ice. But they were nice polite and cheerful though! Everyone that works here genuinely welcomed you, human interaction is rare to find in many hotels these days, but you get it here(They didn't just point to a QR code when you asked questions about the menu or amenities) Shout out to Abu in the lobby bar💚! The hotel section itself is very spread out, l was probably a quarter mile away from the elevator. But the pool area and dining options are all very close to the main building.You don't need a golf cart to get to dinner, which is a nice change from many other larger resorts. There are liquor dispensers everywhere, you want a cocktail, but there are not a lot of top shelf brands available.24 hour snack lounge was convenient- junk food, booze and ice😄. Nice breakfast buffet. This is a great option, for a stay in the Cancun Hotel Zone. So many other resorts are REALLY showing their age, leftovers from Spring Break, in the 90s with a little touch up paint, but still charging $500 a night. Value for your $ here is excellent. Beautiful facility,nice beach, great people.

The hotel was incredible! It was clean but n every respect, efficient staff, choice of food and restaurants brilliant and very friendly. My only gripe was booking the free shuttle through Expedia and Service Destinations. Our BA flight was 45 mins late and Service Destination couldn’t be found so we had to pay for a taxi costing £130 to the hotel. I tried explaining this to Service Destinations and they told us we were a no show!!!!

Very disappointed with this resort. The 3rd floor, including my room (336) reeked of musty odor, mold, mildew. The sofa and bedding in the room were damp during my entire stay. I kept my clothes in the suitcase because they were damp and started to smell like the room. There's no fan in the bathroom to reduce the humidity from the shower; adding to the wetness. Once I checked in I read the reviews from another site and MANY mentioned this issue. When I first raised the issue, a Housekeeper came and sprayed deodorizer to mask the odor. Lasted 20 minutes. I tried to discuss with the manager and he basically "blew me off" and gave me a gazillion excuses. Anyone with breathing issues should definitely stay away from this resort. You could die in this resort. When I requested a humidifier, the manager indicated there was only one for the entire resort and I needed to make a reservation to use it. The manager also suggested that on my next visit I should get a room away from the ocean as that may solve the problem. There will be no next time. The manager was rude, unprofessional, and not worthy of his position or title. The food was mediocre; leftovers from days before, and covered with flies. It was not uncommon to have a bird perched on the table while you were eating. Highly suggest someone conduct a "ghost" visit to the resort to review these concerns. Remember, there are many reviews mentioning the same issue. Definitely not worthy of the rating on Expedia.

I had a terrible experience at the Hotel Riu Palace Las Américas. Everything started on my arrival (09/26/2025). Around 3:30 p.m., I found out there was no electricity throughout the entire hotel. The blackout lasted until around 9 p.m., and by then the heat inside the hotel was unbearable. When the power finally came back, the air conditioning in my room never worked properly. I spent the whole night in extreme heat, went down to reception several times, and was always told the same thing: “wait until the cooling system starts working again.” The next day, the issue continued. My room was still hot, and despite reporting it multiple times, I received no real solution until they finally changed my room after almost two full days of discomfort. To make matters worse, the new room had cockroaches. On top of that, I had invited a family member, who had just returned from naval service, to visit me at the hotel. When we were heading to change clothes before going to the beach, a security guard named Octavio rudely stopped us and forced my guest to leave. I was willing to pay for a day pass, but at reception (with Sebastián) they denied me even that option. The treatment was humiliating and very disrespectful, especially towards a local person who deserved respect. In conclusion, this hotel failed to provide even basic comfort and respect. It was an unpleasant stay, full of problems, poor service, and discriminatory treatment. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Staff today when I left the guy in the door was pretty rude to me and the driver that came to drop me off to the airport 9/29 at 8 am he even lied to the driver saying I hadn’t checked out when I did and told him my name luckily I went outside and the driver asked rather then that great experience

We had an great time at Hotel RIU Palace Las Americas! The resort itself is stunning — from the beautifully maintained grounds to the relaxing pool areas and choice of dining options, everything exceeds our expectations. 100% recommend!

The AC did not work in my room, the food was horrible, had to go to front desk 5 times because my key didn’t work. I did t get a confirmation for my transportation back to the airport I had pay for a taxi. I will never stay at Riu again
