This resort was beautiful! The adults only infinity pool and bar area was our favorite. There are three properties very close to each other that you can enjoy amenities in. Very good restaurants to choose from across these properties. I’d definitely return.

This was our second time staying at the El Cid properties. We loved the entire resort. Very beautiful location, warm and friendly people, excellence, service, and staff, amazing food, and overall wonderful time. We did encounter a problem with our room initially it appears there was some sort of issue with sewage smell leaking from the bathroom. The staff were very responsive and tried to fix this twice. However, we ended up changing rooms. El Cid was wonderful and upgraded our stay to a beautiful room at the new property across the street at Ventus Ha. This side of the resort is immaculate, and more peaceful and quiet with a jungle vibe. My husband and I love coming here and will definitely be back again. The service is always excellent, and even if you encounter a problem, staff are very responsive and willing to help.

First of all I wanted to say we have stayed at this property about 10 times. We booked through Expedia since its always cheaper and never have an issue. We get to the hotel and wanted to a 2 bedroom suite. The front desk offered us a room and we paid the upgrade change. As we changed our room, they gave away our initital rooms. After waiting about 45 minutes then they gave us the keys for one side of the suite. That was fine so we waited for the keys. 10 or so minutes go by and they came bak to us that something was wrong with the room so it will not be available until the next day. They would put us in temporary rooms until then. i am not happy but agreed. The following day we were advised yet again the room is not ready and we would have to wait yet another day! Fast forward to day 2 we were getting ready to move and they told us we had to move out of the temporary room and bring our luggage to the front!! The manager was involved, i advised them I want to go into a regular room and get my money back. There were not any rooms so we were stuck in the room that we upgraded to. We tried to fight it but lost, so we paid for a half of suite instead getting out full 2. the restaurants are good but cant get a reservation, Ventus is clean and newer, shows are good, beach not so nice, all the sister hotels are close to walk with no problems. drinks watered down. We will not be returning.

Highly recommend this resort, the grounds are beautiful, the food was delicious, we loved the nightly entertainment and the close proximity to Puerto Morales. We’ll definitely be back!!

First time at this resort. We thought everything was clean and well kept. We are pretty spontaneous and don't like to plan so having to make reservations a day or more in advance for most restaurants was very annoying to us. Food was good but didn't take my breath away. They don't really allow food outside by pools or at beach, we think to keep birds away. After you get used to it, it's not a big deal. Hardly any birds around, so it does work. The bartenders seem to ignore you sometimes when standing at bar ordering drinks, even when tipping every time. It's a pretty large resort and was full to capacity yet didn't seem crowded at all. Plenty of chairs at beach and pools. We had our teenage kids with and felt very safe letting them run around on their own. Overall a very good experience and would go back.
