The Positives:Location: Excellentâeasy walk to the beach and close to the city center. Off-street parking was a plus.Management: The rental company was very responsive before and during our stay.Amenities: New oven/range and outdoor grill. They allowed dogs, which was a major perk. The Unfortunate (Needs Improvement):Overall, the house felt like a poorly maintained rental. Our basic assessment was to "touch as little as possible."Maintenance & Quality: The house needs general maintenance, including fixing the almost unusable patio sliding door. The furniture was very worn (college-kids style).Kitchen Issues: New appliances were installed without a proper retrofit, making some drawers and cabinets inaccessible. Utensils were a hodgepodge.Cleanliness: There was a strong musty smell, and a deep cleaning is needed (including windows). The decor was a mix-match of "garage-sale" finds.Heating: Heating sources were outdated (circa 1970 wall heaters, baseboard, electric pot belly stove) and looked undusted/unreliable.Location Note: It was not clear the house sits right on hwy 101, resulting in a fair amount of road noise.Missing Essential: A vacuum cleaner is necessary due to debris tracked in from the rain and pine needles.Summary: We would not rent here again. The excellent location and great mgmt could not fully compensate for the house's lack of general maintenance, worn furnishings, and overall lower standard.we left early.
