Another week at TY Magor the staff here never disappoint me and are always very supportive and helpful, I would like to thank them all and wish them a happy Easter.
We stayed here for one night and chose it because it was near to ICC Wales. The hotel is conveniently located near to the M4, but we could not hear traffic noise. The immediate area has nothing of interest, but Magor is an interesting little village a short drive away, with a few limited dining options.
The hotel is clean and the rooms are well appointed. The bed was comfortable and the price was reasonable.
My reason for only 2 stars was that the room was far too hot at night, making it impossible to sleep. This was an early spring day with outside temperatures (day/night) of 15â°/12â° yet the room sensor said it was 25â° in the room. The air conditioning was set to max cooling but was not achieving much and there was a fan provided to move the air around, which all made the room noisy. Clearly something is not right.
We have stayed here before without issue but this experience has made us reconsider whether we will go again.
Stayed for 3 nights on a family break away.
Check in was friendly and efficient.
Rooms are a good size with plenty of storage space/workspace.
Bathroom was also a good size with nice walk in shower. A rainfall shower would work better in here though. Elemis toiletries and plenty of towels.
Bed was comfortable. Bedding a little scratchy. The stay wouldâve been more comfortable if the bed had been 6ft but can be difficult to find many hotels that offer that, especially in this price range.
We didnât eat at the hotel but did use the bar which had a good selection of drinks.
The hotel was very quiet during our stay which suited us perfectly however the bar area then lacked atmosphere due to us being the sole occupants.
Overall a pleasant stay and we would consider staying again.
