Great place to call home!

Spent the month of January 2025 in Carmel at Mar Rosas. Loved the proximity to beach and town. We could walk everywhere. It was clean and comfortable and was well stocked in the kitchen, baths and bedrooms. Looked at other properties in Carmel and we think for the cost this was the best spot for us!

Room with a View

This house was perfect for family or two couples. The kitchen was well appointed and upstairs guest room as well. Nice family room had an inviting fire place and beautiful view of Carmel Beach and the Pacific. Highly recommend one car only as parking was the only issue. Other than that, it was very enjoyable.

The kitchen was well set up for family cooking. the information provided from Sanctuary and the owners’ write up was helpful and welcoming. The bed was comfortable and linens superb. The grill and patio were great. We enjoyed our time and we plan to return as it really was a home away from home.

Fabulous Fall Get Away

We stayed at 3831 Mar Rosas for the month of September 2022. During our month in Carmel-by-the-Sea, we did everything, and this house served as the cornerstone of our happiness. The listing's photos are completely accurate—if not even nicer in person! The house is at the ideal location. 2.5 blocks to downtown Carmel and 5 blocks to the beach. There is one parking space in the driveway and, if you're lucky, three unrestricted spots on the street two houses down. Additionally, there is a free public parking lot about five blocks away. In the central business district, which begins at 5th and Monte Verde, be sure to check the parking signs for time restrictions and residential permits. The home delivered on every level. It was very clean and we had everything we needed for the month. There is a perfect spot in the dining area to set up my remote office for the month. The Wi-Fi connection was very strong for remote work. All the beds were cozy. The kitchen was very well equipped. Plenty of closet space. We enjoyed the ocean view from the living room. The backyard is lovely and an excellent location for bird watching and morning coffee. The time we spent at this place was fantastic. Working with Sanctuary Vacation Rentals was a pleasure. Calls and emails were promptly returned.

Didn’t want to leave....

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Upon arrival I was immediately excited! The view, beautiful trees, location, everything absolutely on point. I love that we were walking distance from town and the beach. The kitchen is well equipped and the shower/tub/bath water gets hot immediately, which I loved. My only minor negatives was that I was told the master closet was available and it was not. It’s full of the owners clothing. Also, during my mid stay cleaning the master closet was locked without my knowledge with my belongings inside. A locksmith had to be called to open it back up. Minor inconvenience but not ideal. The bedspreads are not machine washable which I find icky. I would have preferred washable duvet covers and a full closet to use for a month long stay. Otherwise, the house was charming, ocean view, quiet, serene and beautiful. Thank you, Mar Rosas

October 2021 Stay

Overall our rental experience this year was very enjoyable. The home was very comfortable and kitchen and bathrooms were well decorated and stocked with all the necessities needed to support a monthly rental period. The most important feature of this home was its location, less than a block from the village and a very short walk to the beach. Constructive thoughts include window coverings in the master bedroom because the gardeners come weekly and can look directly into the master bedroom. Also window coverings on the window door in the kitchen because when the neighbors are at their home they sit on their entry stairs and look directly into the home allowing for no privacy at all. Overall a wonderful home. Would love to stay here again next year during the same timeframe but unfortunately the Sanctuary-by-the-Sea website shows this home as “unavailable” for 2022.
