I had a nice room with beach view. My room had a balcony. The view was magnificent. I always stay here when I’m in Cartagena so obviously I live this place. I have friends at the beach that take care of me so I always feel safe and welcome. Also, unfortunately I was not feeling well and they prepared special meals for me. They pampered me and took care of me. Thank you Dann Cartagena. Love you always.

I was very disappointed with my stay at Hotel Dann Cartagena. The building is extremely old and it shows in almost every corner. So many things looked rusty or simply weren’t working properly. In my room, the bathroom was uncomfortably small, the shower door wouldn’t even close, and overall it just felt worn-down. The setup was also very inconvenient — after taking the elevator, you still had to go up and down stairs to reach certain rooms, which felt outdated and impractical. Overall, the hotel felt more old-fashioned than charming, and I would not stay here again.

I think overall this hotel is just ok…my room was beautiful with a great balcony and ocean view. Some of the staff were rude and just blatantly ignore you when you walked up to them. Also, my room key stopped working every single day…they kept blaming it on me until I finally asked for a whole new one and then it worked fine…the food and drinks were so mid…some drinks on their menu, they didn’t even make correctly. For example, I’m pretty sure the made a dry martini with sweet vermouth…and an aperol spritz they made with regular white wine and not prosecco or sparkling…if they can’t make them, that’s fine lol but I literally ordered it off of their menu….I also picked this hotel mostly for the access to the beach but found the beach to be basically unusable because of how much sellers harassed you. Like absolutely non-stop.

Hotel is at least worth its opinions. The great localization and friendly staff are the biggest arguments. Hotel’s swimming pool borders with beach allowing guests to use either from pool sun beds. In the same time, you can go to sea, use hotels bar or restaurant, your belongings are watch by hotel security and no one bothers you with sale. Food and drinks are in reasonable prices. All the facilities are cleaned every morning very well. There is large number of staff in all parts of hotel. Room I upgraded to one with balcony. It’s a large in size and views are amazing, unrestricted sea views and to the right side old city, hotels zone and beaches. When laying on a bed, view is on the old Cartagena. Hotel is walking distance of few minutes you get to streets full of restaurants clubs and stores. There is even a casino. Old city is around 4km, less then 3 miles and is definitely biggest attraction around. Uber prices are very low. To old city cost 12000-30000 COP depends of the week day and hour. I definitely will recommend this hotel to friends.
